Privacy Policy

We count page views, a few button clicks, and requests to our game API and share images with our own anonymous analytics. It sets no cookies and doesn't identify you.

The only cookies are the ones that sign you in and your dark mode choice.

You can browse VaporLens without signing in. When you do sign in, Steam sends us your Steam ID, display name and avatar, never your password. If you import your library or wishlist, we store those games and their playtime to work out how well a game fits you. Games you request or vote for in the queue are linked to your account.

Game chat and AI search need you to be signed in. Your questions are sent to our AI providers, Ollama and OpenRouter, to answer them. We store your questions, the answers and search results linked to your Steam account.

Your chats, friends and voice calls go between your phone and Steam, not through our servers. Game pages load their VaporLens analysis from vaporlens.app, and link previews in chats load their pictures from the linked site. Your Steam sign-in is kept in your phone's secure storage, and cached data stays on your phone until you sign out.

The microphone is only used for voice chat, and the camera and photos only to send pictures you pick into Steam chats. Notifications are made on your phone, with no push service.

When you sign in to Steam, the app also signs you in to vaporlens.app automatically, without sending us your Steam sign-in, so the sign-in section above applies. The app itself has no analytics or crash reporting; its requests to our game API are counted like the website's.

Steam data and game images come from Valve's servers, under Steam's privacy policy. The website is served through Cloudflare.
