New Feature Indices: MTX, Mod Tax, Alt-Tab, Deck

The new feature indices are live. These are lightweight, opinionated signals that distill specific review themes into a single 0-100 gauge with a short verdict and summary.

A quick note on how this happened: the MTX Index was the first feature pick from Patreon supporters. Once it was working, I realized the same approach could be generalized, so I added Mod Tax, Wiki, and Deck indices using the same pipeline.

These indices will appear on newly processed games going forward; the change is not retroactive.

What each index captures:

• MTX Audit: Looks for monetization red flags like "pay to win", "gacha", and "expensive skins" to give a quick casino-style rating.
• Mod Tax Index: Flags reviews that mention needing community patches, Nexus Mods, or "fix it yourself" to make the game feel complete.
• Alt-Tab Index: Tracks how often players say they need a wiki, guide, or Google to understand basic mechanics.
• Steam Deck Reality Check: Filters Steam Deck player reviews and scores sentiment specifically for Deck performance and compatibility.

How they work:

• A targeted scan runs over the same review pool as the main analysis.
• Signals are scored and normalized into a 0-100 index.
• The UI shows a short verdict and the top contributing points to keep it readable.
