Emotions:
- Frustration (weight 0.25): The game is riddled with technical problems: frequent bugs, collision glitches, unreliable save systems that reset progress, and performance issues such as audio lag and missing platforms. Platforming and combat controls are imprecise, and puzzle explanations are often unclear, forcing external research. These issues combine to make the game feel broken and unpolished, repeatedly hindering player progress and enjoyment.
- Disappointment (weight 0.17): High expectations were not met due to a buggy, unpolished state that persisted even after patches. The world feels empty and lifeless, leading to a monotonous and uninspired experience. Despite some good ideas, execution flaws, weak combat, and a lack of meaningful rewards make the game feel incomplete and unjustified at its price.
- Enjoyment (weight 0.08): The game is genuinely fun and entertaining, with charming characters, an engaging story, and satisfying dungeons and puzzles. The season mechanics add a creative layer that encourages experimentation and discovery, making the gameplay experience enjoyable despite occasional technical shortcomings. The second half, with its temples and puzzles, particularly stands out as fun.
- Annoyance (weight 0.04): Numerous bugs and glitches, such as enemies floating, bosses freezing, and the player clipping through objects, constantly interrupt the gameplay. Controls are sometimes unresponsive or auto-lock onto enemies, and combat feels clunky and unsatisfying. These technical issues and lack of polish lead to an unpleasant experience, exacerbated by some hitboxes persisting after enemy death.
- Frustrated (weight 0.03): The game is nearly unplayable due to severe controller input issues and an uncomfortable camera, compounded by a simplistic UI. Combat mechanics are clunky, with delayed counters and slow attacks, making fights unsatisfying. Numerous bugs and glitches further detract from the experience, leaving the player highly frustrated.
- Boredom (weight 0.03): The game becomes monotonous quickly, especially after the initial hours, due to an empty world and repetitive side quests that involve fetching items or running between locations. Combat is boring and fails to provide engagement, while the lack of points of interest during traversal makes the experience feel tedious and uninteresting.
- Satisfaction (weight 0.03): The game ends well and offers well-designed dungeons and puzzles that provide a satisfying challenge. Playing through to 100% completion is enjoyable, and the unique mechanics keep the experience engaging despite minor issues. The overall quality and thoughtful design lead to a good and worthwhile experience.
- Disappointed (weight 0.03): The game's half-finished state, with missing features like weapon attributes, and numerous technical issues such as bugs and jank, make it feel incomplete. The lack of charm and boring gameplay make it difficult to enjoy, and the story loses focus, resulting in a dull experience. Wanted to be good but falls short, leading to disappointment.
- Excitement (weight 0.02): The game exceeded expectations with its beautiful atmosphere, engaging story, and precise jump mechanics. The action-adventure gameplay is high quality and intriguing, with epic boss fights such as the Winter Golem that are both fun and memorable. - Appreciation (weight 0.02): The game is praised for its original season concept, which offers unique gameplay ideas and clever puzzle design. The beautiful scenery, soundtrack, and heartfelt story create an immersive and charming experience. Additionally, the graphics are nearly as impressive as The Witcher 3, and the audio is crafted with great care, adding to the overall appreciation.
- Confusion (weight 0.02): Visual design with disproportionate objects and giant items can be disorienting, and a screen split bug in the mines further contributes to confusion. Inconsistent map indicators for chests and quest items, along with unclear direction in certain areas, leave players feeling lost and wondering if they missed a sequence, even though the game may be working as intended.
- Impressed (weight 0.02): The clever puzzle and dungeon design showcase the game's creativity, particularly the varied use of seasons in both puzzles and boss fights. The overall design, story, and dungeon competence are strong, leaving players impressed by the well-crafted gameplay and thoughtful implementation of mechanics.
- Anger (weight 0.02): Loss of progress due to bugs and the inability to continue the game are major sources of anger. The stiff dialogue and poor dialogue system further frustrate, while the gameplay in exploration, puzzle solving, and combat fails to live up to its promise, making the game feel not worth the full price and leading to overall anger.
- Hope (weight 0.02): Despite the game's current issues, there is hope that it can be fixed because it has a charming and likable essence. Players hope that the developers will use the revenue from the release to fund improvements and release major updates to address the problems. The potential is clear, and the community eagerly awaits fixes.
- Approval (weight 0.01): The game is considered acceptable for its price, especially when purchased at a discount, making it a worthwhile purchase for those looking for a budget-friendly experience. The quality is deemed reasonable for the cost, giving approval for the game's value proposition.
- Regret (weight 0.01): There is regret from spending money on a game that is so rough and unpolished, as it fails to deliver a satisfying experience. However, there is relief in not having paid full price, as the game is not considered worth the standard retail cost, and the disappointment with the game's quality amplifies the regret.
- Fun (weight 0.01): The game offers a variety of fun activities and quests that keep players engaged, especially when experimenting with season mechanics. The charming dialogue adds humor, and despite technical issues, the gameplay provides genuine fun and enjoyment.
- Amusement (weight 0.01): The game's pink humor provides amusement, and despite the technical problems, the overall experience remains entertaining. The humor lightens the mood and makes the gameplay enjoyable even with bugs present.
- Annoyed (weight 0.01): Static NPCs and abrupt scene transitions disrupt immersion and lead to annoyance. Additionally, hints for new gimmicks are either missing or poorly timed, causing confusion and irritation as players struggle to understand mechanics.
- Sadness (weight 0.01): Seeing the vision of a great exploration game being buried under a pile of bugs and an unfinished feel evokes sadness. The potential is clear, but the current state is disappointing, making players mourn what could have been a wonderful experience.}
