About the Game
==============
Breathedge is an ironic outer space survival adventure game. Take on the role of a simple guy called the Man who is just carrying his grandpa's ashes to a galactic funeral and suddenly finds himself in the middle of a universal conspiracy.
Welcome to Space
----------------
A massive space hearse suffers a wreck in the deep space, leaving the area filled with debris, coffins, dead passengers and yourself. Survive in this interstellar dump, uncover a global conspiracy, save the princess and don’t break your fingers while tapping the keyboard as you travel around the world (keeping your display on for full immersion is advised).
Try to stay alive
-----------------
Space isn’t a joke (despite us trying to prove otherwise) and not dying is a challenge. Lose your progress in spectacular ways, including but not limited to suffocation, freezing, incineration, electrocution, depression, blunt trauma, and more.
Litter space with garbage you created
-------------------------------------
It took a long time for our ancestors to develop because they had no electrical tape. You have it and you know how to use it. With this magical artifact, you can create a vast variety of useless objects and throw them out of the airlock! There are also many useful items to be created, but be careful as this may result in completing the game.
Fix and Decorate
----------------
When all your neighbors just hover around in vacuum doing nothing but playing dead, various tools and gears will help you become the worst noisy neighbor ever. Create a unique space station, provide it with oxygen and electricity, install all kinds of equipment from solar panels to a hamster farm, and turn it into a real bachelor pad by stuffing it with furniture mixed with all kinds of junk.
Honk! Honk!
-----------
Yes, you heard that right, it’s your own private car horn! Besides that, you can assemble a small rocket, ride the dead or build a large space shuttle. Transportation helps you move faster, evade obstacles and see the death screen after a head-on collision.

Common complaints:
- Gameplay is frustrating and repetitive (weight 0.99): Players consistently report that the gameplay loop is tedious, repetitive, and frustrating due to excessive backtracking, microcrafting, and resource gathering. Many describe it as unplayable or a waste of time, with mechanics that feel punishing rather than engaging.
- Poor pacing and drawn-out chapters (weight 0.64): Chapters are described as overly long, slow, or unnecessarily drawn out, with pacing issues that undermine engagement. Players report frustration with the lack of progression or narrative payoff in later chapters.
- Inconsistent save system (weight 0.55): The save system is widely panned for being unreliable, with infrequent autosaves, manual save requirements, and risks of losing significant progress. Players report frustration with unclear save mechanics and irreversible losses.
- Unfinished or rushed development (weight 0.45): Players perceive the game as unfinished or rushed, with bugs, poor polish, and mechanics that feel underdeveloped. Some accuse the developers of prioritizing crowdfunding over delivering a quality product.
- Poor oxygen and survival mechanics (weight 0.4): The oxygen management system is frequently cited as overly harsh, tedious, and poorly balanced, especially in the early game. Players find it frustrating due to constant backtracking, limited exploration time, and lack of meaningful payoff for the stress it adds.
- Tedious crafting and resource gathering (weight 0.35): Crafting is criticized for being slow, inconvenient, and overly repetitive, with excessive backtracking required to gather materials. Tools break quickly, and the UI is frustrating to navigate, making progression feel like a chore.
- Base-building feels irrelevant (weight 0.21): Base-building is described as tacked-on, underutilized, or pointless, particularly in later chapters. Players report that it lacks incentive, becomes irrelevant due to resource scarcity, or arrives too late in the progression to matter.
- Disjointed and linear progression (weight 0.2): The game shifts from an open-world survival experience to a linear, corridor-based structure in later chapters, disappointing players who expected continued exploration. This genre shift is described as abrupt and unengaging.
- Frustrating tool durability (weight 0.13): Tools break quickly and cannot be repaired, forcing players to constantly recraft or backtrack to base. This mechanic is seen as artificial and unnecessarily punishing, adding to the game's tedium.
- Inferior to Subnautica (weight 0.11): The game is frequently compared unfavorably to *Subnautica*, with players noting it lacks the engaging atmosphere, meaningful survival mechanics, and cohesive design of its inspiration. Many describe it as a dull or poorly executed clone.

Gameplay feedback:
- Core survival mechanics in space (weight 0.46): The game emphasizes survival elements like oxygen, hunger, thirst, and resource management as central gameplay pillars. Players must constantly monitor and replenish these resources to progress, mirroring mechanics in games like Subnautica.
- Resource gathering and crafting loop (weight 0.39): Resource gathering is a frequent and often repetitive activity, requiring players to collect materials for crafting tools, consumables, and base upgrades. The lack of locators or streamlined transportation can make this process tedious.
- Non-linear open-world exploration (weight 0.32): The game offers a vast, open-world environment for exploration, with freedom to discover asteroids, space stations, and other points of interest. However, some missions may shift to linear, corridor-based progression later in the game.
- Zero-gravity movement mechanics (weight 0.24): Movement in space is physics-based, with zero-gravity or low-gravity mechanics that allow for unrestricted exploration. However, back-and-forth travel for resources or progression can feel cumbersome.
- Chapter-based progression system (weight 0.19): Progression is structured into distinct chapters, with early gameplay focusing on survival and exploration, while later chapters may shift to linear storytelling or combat-heavy segments.
- Genre shift in late-game (weight 0.07): The game transitions from survival-focused gameplay to narrative-driven or shooter mechanics in later chapters, which may disappoint players expecting consistent survival elements.
- Backtracking and fetch quests (weight 0.06): Later portions of the game introduce backtracking and fetch quests, which can feel repetitive or tedious, especially if players are required to revisit areas frequently.
