Info about Idle Legions:

Official game description:
Your legion fights on its own. You pick a formation of up to four heroes out of eight (five of them free), gear them up, and they handle the rest, wave after wave. Close the game and they keep going: the offline progress is worked out on the server.
What you decide is who you level, what you put on them, which pets you bring and when you push the next boss.
Six acts, six bosses. Each one fights differently. The Ancient Ent and the Magma Lord have a break bar. Break it and the boss is stunned and takes double damage. The Ent and the Void Reaper hit harder at half health. The Swamp Hydra regenerates unless it is burning. The Archnecromancer opens with a bone shield. The Magma Lord switches between heat and cold. Each act boss asks for that act's key. The stage before the boss always gives you the first one. The rest drop as you play. A key is only used up if you win. Keys are not sold for real money. Players trade them for gold at the auction house.
Five difficulties: Normal, Hard, Nightmare, Hell and Madness. The same six acts, with tougher enemies.
Seven gear rarities: from common to mythic. Rerollable affixes, elemental runes and forge stones.
The Abyss: a dungeon that builds itself. In the level 100 Abyss, the final boss can drop mythics. Mythic is the top rarity, with five affixes. The Forge of the Well also crafts them from Mythic Cores. Those cores drop in the Abyss itself. Outside it, fusing ten uniques in the forge can give a mythic. It happens one time in two hundred.
Forty pets: each with its own bonus, and twenty levels to raise it.
Asynchronous PvP: your formation against another player's, with leagues and seasons. The fight is resolved on the server. You watch it as a replay.
World boss: its health is set against the whole server hitting it at once, not against your team. Rankings by player and by guild.
City and guilds: your own avatar, an isometric plaza and an auction house.

Feature scans:
- MTX: score 85; verdict: Predatory pay-gated monetization; summary: The reviews provide direct evidence that this free-to-play game monetizes core systems rather than only cosmetics. Trading and market access require a DLC or Battle Pass purchase, and paid content includes extra heroes, character slots, inventory storage, and battle pass rewards. One reviewer reports being hard stuck on a boss without DLC characters, indicating progression pressure tied to spending.
- Proton/Linux: score 20; verdict: Unverified; No Linux-Specific Friction Reported; summary: The available reviews contain no direct reports of Linux or Proton launch failures, crashes, performance problems, anti-cheat blockers, launcher issues, or required tweaks. The only Linux-related signal is that Linux, Proton, and Steam Deck compatibility are currently unverified, so the evidence does not establish real Linux-specific friction. The low score reflects the absence of reported Linux issues, not confirmed working status.
- Steam Deck: score 80; verdict: Broken - unlaunchable; summary: The reviews show a hard launch failure on Steam, with users unable to open the game and no effective official fix. Additional reports of server problems and broken gameplay interactions further prevent basic play. Steam Deck compatibility is unverified, with Proton support, controller behavior, and interface readability still uncertain. The dominant issue is the game being unlaunchable, which places the experience in the Broken range.

- Generous rewards and loot (weight 0.12): Closed-beta player rewards are generous, and good loot drops contribute to a satisfying experience where everything feels worthwhile. The chest system is also fun.
- Strategic combat and customization (weight 0.1): Boss mechanics add welcome strategic variety, and unique active skill triggers and target settings allow fine control. Players can intervene in combat beyond formation and gear updates, enhancing tactical depth.
- Balanced difficulty and learning curve (weight 0.1): The difficulty is neither too low nor too brutal and requires thinking, while being easy to understand for players with idle game experience. Trial and error from the early game is very enjoyable.
- Cool and great developers (weight 0.07): Reviewers praise the development team as cool and great, reflecting positively on the game's ongoing support and community interaction.
- Average overall impression (weight 0.06): Some players find the game just okay, indicating a mixed but not negative reception. The game can also recover health, which is a minor positive note.
- Good value with DLCs (weight 0.04): The game is not bad if you are willing to buy the DLCs, indicating that the base experience may be improved with additional content. This suggests a positive but conditional recommendation.
- Improved server stability (weight 0.04): Server problems have improved considerably, addressing a previous concern and enhancing the overall player experience.

Common complaints:
- Unfair gold bar advantages (weight 0.36): Some players receive massive gold bars (e.g., 20 million) at start, giving months of progression advantage. Streamers and beta testers also receive large amounts, creating an unfair gap.
- Severe server lag and instability (weight 0.36): Servers are frequently laggy, stuttering, or overloaded, making the game difficult to play. Crashes at launch and at low player counts indicate poor server capacity.
- Login and connection failures (weight 0.33): Many players cannot enter the game due to infinite loading, Steam connection failures, or frequent disconnections. These issues occur even with few players online.
- Low resolution and UI issues (weight 0.19): The game supports only up to 1280 resolution, making it unplayable on 4K monitors and hard to see on 2K screens. The UI is also too small and strains the eyes.
- DLC required for market and trading (weight 0.16): Players must purchase a DLC or battle pass to access the Steam Market or trade items. This paywall limits core functionality.
- Missing fullscreen and audio options (weight 0.11): There is no fullscreen or fullscreen windowed mode, and the game lacks music audio. These basic features are absent.
- AI-generated appearance (weight 0.06): The game appears AI-generated with no distinctive style and is visually painful to look at. This contributes to a low-quality impression.
- Box opening requires extra steps (weight 0.05): Opening boxes involves an unnecessary lever-pulling step that adds friction. The flashy animation slows down the process.

Gameplay feedback:
- Auction House and Market (weight 0.35): An auction house allows players to buy and sell items for gold, with fluctuating prices and real-time floors and ceilings. The market is central to trading and progression.
- High-Value Gold Bars (weight 0.34): Gold bars are rare drops worth approximately 20 million in-game currency, vastly exceeding normal monster drops. Early acquisition greatly accelerates progression and is a key economic driver.
- Gold from Monster Kills (weight 0.29): Killing monsters and waves rewards small amounts of gold, forming the basis of the gold economy. Players grind gold over time through gameplay.
- Idle Game with Market (weight 0.24): The game is an idle RPG featuring automated battles and background progression, with a Steam Market and in-game economy integral to its design.
- Steam Market Trading Locked (weight 0.17): Players report that using the Steam Market or in-game auction house requires purchasing the Battle Pass DLC, limiting listings to 10 items per day. This monetization gate restricts free trading without the paid pass.
- Varying Starting Gold Amounts (weight 0.16): Players begin with different amounts of starting gold, with some receiving 2000w or more based on luck or beta participation. This creates economic disparity.
- Loot Boxes and Chests (weight 0.16): Loot boxes and chests are opened via a lever interaction, with drops having rarity tiers including white and blue. Chests are part of early progression.
- Equipment Randomization and Enhancement (weight 0.14): Equipment has random options and values that must be carefully selected, with seven rarity categories, affixes, runes, and gems. Players can reroll properties and enhance gear.
- Market Monetization Impact (weight 0.14): The monetization system affects the in-game economy, with bound gold that does not directly enter the market and auction house purchases that can skip progression.
- Difficulty Tiers and Progression (weight 0.14): There are five difficulty settings from Normal to Madness, unlocked progressively. Progression is divided into stages and allows reaching level 50.
- Social Features and Trading (weight 0.14): The game includes a city center to meet other players, in-game chat, and active trading with an auction house that can be scanned.
- Multiplayer and PvP Features (weight 0.1): Multiplayer includes asynchronous PvP with automatic battles and replays, competitive leagues, seasonal rankings, and server-wide boss encounters.
- Combat Automation and Intervention (weight 0.1): Battles unfold automatically, but players can configure active skill trigger conditions and targets, and intervene beyond formation and equipment updates.
- Campaign Structure and Bosses (weight 0.09): The campaign features six acts, each ending with a boss that may have specific mechanics like regeneration or shields. Boss challenges require keys that are not consumed on failure.
- Doctrine Progression System (weight 0.09): Doctrines are a progression system that boosts gold, drops, damage, defense, quality-of-life, and AFK time, and can be completed using large amounts of gold.
- Guild System and Rankings (weight 0.09): The game has a guild system with rankings that provide competitive objectives for players.
- DLC Extra Character Slots (weight 0.07): DLCs unlock two extra character slots and three extra characters, expanding roster options beyond the starting eight.
- Pet Collection System (weight 0.06): There are forty pets, each with individual bonuses and twenty levels of development, plus a collection log for tracking.
- Abyss Dungeon and Rewards (weight 0.04): The Abyss is a dungeon with procedurally generated layouts and exclusive rewards, offering additional challenge and loot.

Performance notes:
- Severe server lag and instability (weight 0.4): Players widely report heavy lag, stuttering, and unresponsive servers that make the game difficult or impossible to play, especially at launch. Clusters cite poor server quality and crashes even with low player counts.
- Login and connection failures (weight 0.28): Many players cannot connect to Steam, log in, or enter the game, with persistent connection failures and frequent disconnections. Some report being stuck on the interface or infinite loading screens.
- Slow loading and entry (weight 0.06): The game has long loading and entry times with slow character movement, and one player reports being stuck on the interface unable to enter.

Recommendations:
- Strong negative recommendation (weight 0.3): Multiple reviewers strongly advise against playing or buying the game, with some calling it the worst game they have ever played. Refund requests and warnings to run away are recurring themes.
- Monetization and gold disadvantage (weight 0.15): There are concerns about monetization and a starting disadvantage of 20 million gold compared to other players. Some suggest only buying DLC if it offers valuable drops.
- Repetitive structure and grinding (weight 0.12): The game is described as repetitive and not suited for players who cannot enjoy clearing content without thinking. It is recommended only for patient players who accept the listed issues.
- New players should be cautious (weight 0.12): New players are warned to be cautious, with some describing the game as a scam and advising against buying it. Others recommend trying it or playing the free version first.
- Mixed or moderate ratings (weight 0.09): Some reviewers give moderate scores such as 5/10 or 6/10, finding the game entertaining but flawed. Negative reviews are seen by some as undeserved.
- Niche appeal for incremental RPG fans (weight 0.07): Players who enjoy incremental RPGs and long-term character development may appreciate the game, but those seeking action combat or narrative depth may find it less engaging.
- Caution on Steam Deck compatibility (weight 0.06): Steam Deck compatibility is unconfirmed, and users are advised to approach it cautiously until reliable testing becomes available.

Other player notes:

- Developer actively updating game (weight 0.12): The development team is regarded as cool and is actively working on and updating the game, fixing issues little by little. The game had a playtest that allowed early hours.
- Negative reviews disputed as unfair (weight 0.11): Some reviewers consider the review bombing unjustified, claiming negative reviews are mainly from competitors or based on false complaints. The game is compared unfavorably to another title by a large margin.
- DLC pushes past refund window (weight 0.1): Purchasing the DLC leaves players past the two-hour refund window, and some report refunding the DLC after encountering issues. Pricing also varies between players.
- Streamers received exclusive gold rewards (weight 0.1): Closed-beta streamers received in-game gold bar rewards at launch, while regular buyers received no equivalent. Closed-beta participants also received an in-game reward.
- Monetization includes battle pass (weight 0.08): Monetization includes three additional heroes, a battle pass, and expanded inventory storage through paid content. The battle pass DLC is sold individually or inside a bundle.
- Uncertain Steam Deck compatibility (weight 0.07): Steam Deck compatibility is currently unverified with no confirmed Verified or Playable classification. Linux compatibility, controller functionality, interface readability, and Proton support also remain uncertain.
- Mandatory internet connection required (weight 0.07): A mandatory internet connection prevents completely offline play. Official support has not provided an effective solution to login issues.
- Modest pixel-art presentation (weight 0.06): The game employs a modest pixel-art presentation. The UI scaling is compared unfavorably to another title.
- In-game market resembles MMOs (weight 0.06): The in-game market is reminiscent of MMOs. The game is still early, so the market situation may improve as more content is added.
- AI sketches used as references (weight 0.04): The developers disclose that AI-generated sketches serve as preliminary references, while finished artwork is manually redrawn and refined.
- Chat dominated by Chinese players (weight 0.03): The chat is mostly used by Chinese players.

- Game data modifiable by players (weight 0.03): Game data is modifiable by players.

Emotions:
- Frustration (weight 0.38): Players are frustrated by severe server issues including frequent disconnections, lag, and inability to log in or connect to Steam. A major cause is the unfair economy where beta testers and streamers received massive gold advantages, making normal progression feel impossible. Technical problems like low resolution, small interface, and poor performance further worsen the experience.
- Anger (weight 0.12): Anger stems from the extreme gold imbalance where streamers received millions while regular players earn tiny amounts, combined with terrible server lag. The developer's favoritism toward beta testers and streamers, plus the inability to get refunds or support, fuels outrage. Unfair advantages and broken servers make the game feel unjust.
- Disappointment (weight 0.07): Disappointment arises from the game's poor launch, saturated market, and balance ruined by early gold bar drops. Honest grinding feels worthless compared to spending, and the game feels like a careless cash grab. Server crashes and bad monetization further let down expectations.
- Satisfaction (weight 0.05): Players enjoy the auction house, guild system, and strategic customization with varied progression. The game fills a gap in the idler genre and offers fun gameplay with Steam Market earnings. Generous beta rewards and balanced upgrading systems contribute to satisfaction.
- Disgust (weight 0.04): Disgust is caused by aggressive monetization, AI-generated visuals, and a pay-to-win structure where market access requires a paid pass. The game feels like a scam with convoluted interfaces and poor AI. Shill promotion and DLC-gated characters add to the revulsion.
- Enjoyment (weight 0.03): Enjoyment comes from fun gameplay, social features like guilds and the city center, and unique systems such as chests, trees, and cities. The idle loop and active skill customization provide entertainment. Good graphics and loot enhance the experience.
- Distrust (weight 0.03): Distrust is fueled by a chaotic market manipulated by gold bars and modifiable game data, hidden discount mechanics, and suspected farming studios. Reviews with over 100 hours on a game out for only 5 hours seem suspicious. The game appears to be a scam targeting new players.
- Annoyance (weight 0.03): Annoyance is caused by feeling misled by hidden bundle pricing, missing fullscreen options, and other players starting with 20 million currency. Nonfunctional servers add to the irritation. These issues make the game feel unfair and poorly designed.
- Dissatisfaction (weight 0.03): Dissatisfaction stems from progression devolving into mindless farming unless gold is purchased, an unclear and small interface, and a pay-to-win leaderboard. Unbalanced gold brick pricing leaves players who missed out feeling cheated. The game fails to provide a fair and engaging experience.
- Concern (weight 0.02): Concern arises from monetization practices, unconfirmed Steam Deck compatibility, and early gold bar drops giving lucky players a months-long lead. Occasional crashes and server overload also worry players. These issues threaten the game's long-term fairness and stability.
- Confusion (weight 0.02): Confusion is caused by not understanding the negative reviews, an unexplained incident involving 20 million gold, and repeated login error messages. Players are puzzled by the game's economy and technical problems. The situation leaves them unsure of what to make of the game.
- Irritation (weight 0.02): Irritation comes from having to exit screens and walk back to the hero to manage equipment, flashy box opening requiring lever pulling, and separated inventory and equipment screens. These cumbersome interface flows disrupt gameplay. The design feels unnecessarily tedious.
- Discouragement (weight 0.01): Discouragement is caused by other players starting with massive currency advantages, leaving new players months behind testers from the start. The unfair head start makes progression feel hopeless. This disparity demotivates players before they even begin.
- Entertainment (weight 0.01): Entertainment is derived from finding the game fun despite its broken launch. The core gameplay loop remains enjoyable even with technical issues. Players are amused by the game's flaws and still find it engaging.
- Resignation (weight 0.01): Resignation comes from the large starting gold disadvantage compared to other players. Players accept that they are far behind and cannot catch up. The unfair economy leaves them feeling helpless.
- Hope (weight 0.01): Hope is based on the game looking promising and the reviewer wishing it stays that way. The potential for a good idle game keeps players optimistic. They see positive features and want the game to succeed.
- Resentment (weight 0.01): Resentment is caused by wealthy players being flaunted in front of others, creating a visible gap. The display of wealth makes regular players feel bitter. This flaunting exacerbates the unfair economy.
- Caution (weight 0.01): Caution is advised because new players end up as also-rans due to the massive advantages given to early players. The warning is that newcomers will struggle to compete. This cautious stance stems from the game's unbalanced start.
- Addiction (weight 0.01): Addiction is driven by the idle loop that keeps pulling the player back. The repetitive but rewarding gameplay hooks players. The constant progression keeps them engaged despite other issues.
- Optimism (weight 0.01): Optimism comes from the game looking promising with many features and a nice design. Players see potential for a great experience. The positive aspects outweigh current problems.}
