About the Game
==============
Battle while you work
---------------------
Lootborne runs in a window small enough to sit next to whatever you are actually doing. With the optional “always on top” setting, your hero keeps fighting and looting on its own, for as long as stamina holds... then rests and goes again. You look over when you decide it’s time to level up or update your gear.
Drop loot and forge items
-------------------------
424 items across six rarities. Start with battered gear and claw your way toward magic rings, cursed blades, ancient tomes, and mythic artifacts that can redefine your run. Gear up not only for power, but for aesthetics too. And when a duplicate drops, throw it into the forge and gamble it upward.
Elements, Perks, and Potions
----------------------------
Arcane, Flame, Frost, Holy, Shadow. Items carry elemental affinities that stack into synergies; 26 Perks change how your character fights, and 25 Potions let you tilt a fight you are losing. Stats can be respecced: an early mistake is not a dead character.
Challenge other players in async PvP
------------------------------------
Your build is not limited to PvE. Test it against other players’ builds in asynchronous battles: no lobby, no queue, no waiting. And it does not stop when you close the game, as challenges can resolve even while you're not playing, with the results waiting when you come back.
Climb the global ladder, challenge your Steam friends, and hunt four PvP bosses that drop gear you cannot get anywhere else.
Trade on the Steam Market
-------------------------
We consider this a feature of the game, not a reason to play it.
For this reason, we’ve added some limits and safeguards:
* The Steam Market opens one week after release.
* Rare and Epic items, together with Legendary items dropped in battle, can be traded with other players on the Steam Community Market for Steam Wallet funds.
* Common, Mythic, and Ascended items are account-bound, along with forged Legendary items. These cannot be traded.
* Trading unlocks at level 15 on an account that is at least 7 days old. You can mark up to 20 items as sellable per week, with a maximum of 4 per day.
Fair Play & Ban Policy
----------------------
A fair, healthy game environment matters to us, and what we learned during the demo shaped how we handle bots and cheaters.
*   Anti-cheat runs server-side.
* We never monitor or scan other apps or processes on your PC. Not to detect cheating or for any other reason.
* Depending on the violation, we may restrict access to leaderboards, trading, and matchmaking, or ban the account from the game, but we never request a Steam-level (VAC/Game) ban.
* Balance and economy changes are always disclosed in patch notes, never applied silently.
* Think you were flagged by mistake? Appeal anytime at our support email. We acknowledge appeals within 72 hours and resolve them within 14 days (we're still a small indie team after all). If we got it wrong, we fully restore what was affected and compensate you on top of it.
* You can report cheaters on our Discord or via email.
Offline Play & Data Gathering
-----------------------------
* PvE is fully playable offline, no connection required, though stamina paces the run either way. Only PvP, trading, and leaderboards require you to be online.
* We collect gameplay data, never personal data, to help us improve the game and spot cheaters. You can opt out anytime in Settings.

Categories: Idle Game, Auto-battler, Loot-Driven Combat System, Asynchronous Multiplayer, PvP, Equipment Customization, Steam Market Integration, Pixel Art Style

Feature scans:
- Steam Deck: score 45; verdict: Unverified - Tinkering Required; summary: The audit finds no confirmed hard blocker such as crashes, unreadable UI, or a mandatory external launcher. However, Steam Deck compatibility remains Unknown or Unverified, and users are warned not to assume handheld optimization. The game also appears to lack an in-game frame-rate limiter, requiring manual performance control for battery or stability tuning. Anti-cheat appears server-side and human-reviewed, which lowers client-side compatibility risk but does not establish official Deck support.

- Hardware Profile:
  - Summary: The Windows <8GB VRAM cohort has limited evidence from one included snippet, which describes initial playability followed by repeated crashes.
  - Sample size: 31 (6% coverage)
  - Audience skew: Review sample is mostly Windows-based.
  - Windows <8GB VRAM (mixed, 16 reports): A single 4 GB VRAM / 16 GB RAM Windows 10 report says the game initially ran but then crashed repeatedly, including five consecutive crashes.
  - Caveats: 31 of 493 reviews expose hardware metadata.; Review sample is mostly Windows-based.
Feature extractions:
- Community Price:
  - Community fair range: $1.99 - $2.99
  - Reasoning: The clearest positive price anchors are at about $1.99-$2, where users say the game is worth it or worth a try. However, several reviews reject the game even at a very cheap asking price, and the translated Japanese review says it is not worth a 254-yen sale price. This suggests the community fair base-game range should stay low, centered near $2 but allowing a small cushion up to about $3; there is no evidence supporting a higher base-game price.
- Playtime Metrics:
  - Game completion: 72.0h
  - Story completion: N/A
  - Session length: 4.0h
  - Endgame: 700.0h
  - Reasoning: The 700+ hour review directly indicates a very long endgame grind, and the 300-hour review supports that players can still be stuck on late progression at that point, so endgame is set to the observed long-tail value of 700 hours. The session-length evidence describes leaving the idle game running for a few hours and returning later, supporting a typical multi-hour session of about 4 hours. One translated review says players can reach the final stage in three days, which supports an approximate 72-hour elapsed completion/idle runtime to the final stage. No reliable story-completion evidence appears; the game is described mainly through idle progression, PvE waves, and PvP/endgame systems. I excluded leaderboard reports of impossible playtime shortly after launch because they clearly refer to cheating or time-travel anomalies rather than normal completion time.
- Time-to-fun:
  - Summary: The game is reported as addictive and chill once players get past the first hours with bots, though some bounce off quickly because early balance favors DEF/Parry builds and combat is passive and repetitive.
  - Stance: Clicks after
  - Anchor: After the first hours with the bots
  - Time to anchor: N/A
  - Friction: Early hours with bots require patience; Early game balance forces a Full DEF+Parry build; DPS builds struggle to progress; Automatic combat and repetition may not satisfy players wanting direct control; Inventory limits and limited clearing options; Some players find it boring quickly
  - Unlock drivers: Extensive equipment pool and elemental builds; Forging, perks, and respec options; Endless progression and endgame goals; Asynchronous PvP and trading; Clear stat/build impact and rewarding progression; Always-on loot
  - Conditions: Patience during the first hours with bots; Tolerance for automatic combat and repetition; Willingness to use DEF+Parry early; Preference for idle or low-maintenance play; Focus on progression rather than the marketplace; Players seeking direct control may not enjoy it

- Resignation (weight 0.01): Resignation reflects players accepting the game as an idle waiting game, continuing to play despite issues, and feeling it is more of a time-waster than fun.
- Approval (weight 0.01): Approval is given for decisions that stabilize the economy, quick handling of leaked cheats, and the small paywall that deters bots. Players appreciate that the game knows what it is and executes well.
- Surprise (weight 0.01): Surprise comes from discovering the game is deeper than expected, with item drops gating progress, and from seeing players with hundreds of hours already played at launch.}
