About the Game
==============
Welcome to **Funnel Runners**, where you will have your first on-site deployment with APEX Storm Monitoring Services.
A high-priority F5 tornado is approaching, and we are counting on **you (and up to 7 fellow friends)** to **collect data, scavenge necessary information**, and, of course, **survive**.
The weather is your worst enemy here. **Tornados and storms will spawn randomly**, **grow stronger** over time, and **tear the whole map apart**. Buildings will collapse piece by piece, and items will no longer be found in destroyed areas, so you must adapt quickly.  **Be careful not to be swept up by the wind; you may not be found again.**
In this mission, you can **team up with 7 other players or tackle it solo**. **Share gadgets, split up** to cover more ground, **collect necessary information and items** to **fix the van** before the situation turns bad.
With **realistic graphics and a first-person perspective**, the experience brings you close to every gust of wind, distant siren, and falling piece of debris.
Scavenge the collapsing city for scattered **vehicle parts, fuel, and tools**. These items will allow you to **repair your van and help you survive the storm**. Each playthrough features **randomized environments, weather, items, and problems to solve on your vehicle**. No playthrough will be the same.

Feature scans:
- MTX: score 10; verdict: Fair - No MTX Evidence, Base-Price Complaints Only; summary: The reviews express dissatisfaction with value for money, an unfinished 'demo-like' state, and the game's marketing hype, using phrases like 'rip off,' 'overpriced demo,' and 'cash grab.' However, none of the feedback mentions in-game purchases, microtransactions, gacha, loot boxes, battle passes, or a real-money shop. The 'cash grab' language is directed at the upfront purchase price and the trailer/streamer marketing rather than at any post-purchase monetization system. Because the complaints are about base price and subjective quality with no evidence of a real-money in-game economy, the score is capped in the fair range.
- Proton/Linux: score 40; verdict: Works with minor Proton and SteamOS tweaks; summary: The game generally runs on Linux and Steam Deck, with users reporting successful launches and playability. One user specifically uses Proton GE11-1 on Deck, and SteamOS users share display settings to manage performance. There is one vague report of Linux compatibility issues and a ProtonDB reference, indicating minor friction. No anti-cheat, launcher, or DRM blockers are reported. The overall Linux/Proton experience is functional with minor tweaks.
- Steam Deck: score 70; verdict: Broken - Steam Deck compatibility regression; summary: The Steam Deck/Linux feedback is mixed: many users can run the game well after manual Proton GE/ProtonDB setup and settings such as AA off, balanced mode, and a 30 FPS lock, and some praise handheld performance and controller support. However, the audit found a credible post-update Steam Deck launch failure, ongoing Linux compatibility complaints, high battery drain, required performance tuning, and default FSR/Frame Gen input lag. Because at least one user reports the game no longer launches on Steam Deck after an update, the friction reaches the Broken band under the scoring criteria.

- Hardware Profile:
  - Summary: Performance is mixed across most hardware cohorts, with crashes and optimization issues appearing on both mid-range and high-VRAM systems. The lowest-VRAM/<16GB RAM cohort is mostly positive, while the <8GB VRAM/16-31GB RAM cohort shows more consistent performance and stability problems.
  - Sample size: 689 (20% coverage)
  - Audience skew: Review sample is mostly Windows-based.
  - Windows 8-11GB VRAM (mixed, 158 reports): Some users report smooth play at 70-94 FPS, but others on similar 8-11GB VRAM systems report frame drops, sub-20 FPS, and optimization problems.
  - Windows 12-15GB VRAM / 16-31GB RAM (mixed, 132 reports): Several users run well at high settings with DLSS, while others report random crashes, launch failures, and AMD GPU loading issues.
  - Windows <8GB VRAM / 16-31GB RAM (negative, 118 reports): Performance problems dominate, including lag spikes as low as 5 FPS, sub-30 FPS on low settings, black screens, and post-update lag.
  - Windows <8GB VRAM / <16GB RAM (positive, 117 reports): Most reports indicate smooth optimization and playable 50-144 FPS, even on lower-end 4-8GB VRAM systems, with only minor slowdowns in intense weather.
  - Windows 16GB+ VRAM (mixed, 61 reports): High-end systems often run at 100+ FPS, but many users still report frequent crashes, multiplayer freezes, and loading-screen failures.
  - Windows 12-15GB VRAM / 32GB+ RAM (mixed, 50 reports): Some users report good 100 FPS performance, while others cite fullscreen crashes, file corruption, and a need for better optimization.
  - Caveats: 689 of 3484 reviews expose hardware metadata.; Review sample is mostly Windows-based.
Feature extractions:
- Community Price:
  - Community fair range: $10.00 - $15.00
  - Reasoning: The reviews show a fair-price consensus anchored between roughly $10 and $15. Positive reviewers repeatedly accept $13-14, about €10 (roughly $11), and $15 as worth it, while several explicitly call $15 fair or the maximum acceptable. Critical reviews argue that $15 is too high for the current content, but their lower anchors sit below the main positive cluster. This makes $10-$15 the most representative fair base-game range, with $15 as the common upper limit and $10 as the lower bound supported by positive value statements.
- Playtime Metrics:
  - Game completion: 2.5h
  - Story completion: N/A
  - Session length: 0.3h
  - Endgame: 4.0h
  - Reasoning: The review stating completion after 2.5 hours supports gameCompletion of about 2.5 hours. Multiple reports of 20-minute runs support sessionLength of about 0.33 hours. The Chinese review translated as current playable content and progression experience capped at 4 hours, along with another saying it is great for 2-3 hours before getting boring, supports an endgame/content ceiling around 4 hours. No evidence describes a distinct story completion, so storyCompletion is null.
- Time-to-fun:
  - Summary: Funnel Runners is initially enjoyable for its atmosphere, destruction, and co-op chaos, but many players report that the repetitive repair loop and minimal content make it less fun after repeated runs. Co-op and future content updates are the main conditions that sustain or restore enjoyment.
  - Stance: Fun then drops
  - Anchor: N/A
  - Time to anchor: N/A
  - Friction: Rough or unclear tutorial; Solo play is hard and less fun; One map and repetitive van-repair loop; Small inventory and clunky controls; Lack of meaningful progression; Bugs, crashes, and microphone lag
  - Unlock drivers: Playing with friends or in co-op; Adding more maps and game modes; Increasing mission and task variety; Building a rewarding progression system; Improving tutorial and difficulty balance
  - Conditions: Whether playing solo or with friends; Tolerance for repetitive gameplay loops; Expectations around Early Access content; Number of players in the session; Whether the tutorial is completed or skipped; Future updates adding content and progression; Price sensitivity for the current content amount

- Massive tornado threat (weight 0.23): Tornadoes are a major threat that can suck up, drag, and throw players. They can spin in place above players and pull them away, creating dangerous situations.
- Supports up to eight players (weight 0.21): Multiplayer supports up to eight players, with hosts and players, and can be played solo or with up to eight players. Some mention sessions with at least five players, and the game supports both single player and multiplayer.
