Info about Slow Roads:

Official game description:
**Slow Roads** is a casual driving game designed to capture the zen of a long drive on a scenic road. Zone out as you coast along lifelike roads that wind endlessly through procedurally-generated landscapes, with configurable locations, road styles, seasons, weather, and vehicles. Generate a unique world, throw on some music, and **just drive.**
Endless driving zen
-------------------
Simply chase the horizon through endless, ever-unique landscapes, with no objectives, challenges, or distractions. Disconnect from stress while you roll through valleys, fields, forests, and coastlines at your own pace.
Infinitely-generated scenic roads
---------------------------------
A novel procedural engine generates the landscapes and roads organically, meaning every stretch of road is unique and non-repeating. Choose your preferred style, from casual to winding corners, wide or narrow, and paved or off-road. World generation is seeded, allowing you to revisit any especially nice road you find.
Settings for location, season, weather, and time-of-day
-------------------------------------------------------
Select a location and instantly switch between scene styles to suit your mood, with options for sun, cloud, snow, and time-of-day. Locations are based on real places - roll through the hills of the Peak District, coast along the California shore, or rove Off-World if you really need an escape.
Choose the vehicle that suits your style
----------------------------------------
"Driving zen" means different things to different people, whether that's cruising in the **coupe**, rallying in the **hatch**, or kissing each apex with the **sports car**. Maybe take the **coach** for a slow tour, or try hitting the perfect lean into every corner with the **bike.**
Vehicle customisation and tuning
--------------------------------
Optionally customise your vehicle's style and tuning, with controls over colours, wheels, plates, engines, handling, and more. Any vehicle's engine can be electric or combustion, with the latter having options for manual or automatic transmission.
Casual or sim-style driving
---------------------------
Configure the gameplay to your own comforts with controls for steer assist, camera pose, traffic, and more. You can even let the car drive for you, with options for automatic steering, automatic speed control, or full autodrive. The cockpit view can be configured for sim-style driving, with support for controllers and wheels\*
_\*Please note that **force feedback is not currently supported** by the engine, but is planned for a near-term content update. Check out the demo to verify your device's compatibility._
Just drive...
-------------
Slow Roads is designed for minimalist gameplay, with a lightweight engine that is hyper-optimised for endless, real-time environment generation - less so for crash physics or stunts. Take it slow, stay on the road, and let the simplicity of a mindless drive scratch an itch you didn't know you had. Having said that, nobody will stop you if you prefer to cruise at 300kph or rally on the mountain trails...
Steam-exclusive features
------------------------
If you've played the web version, you may wonder what's going to be different on Steam. In the full game you'll find dozens of exclusive upgrades and features, including:
* Extra locations, starting with the new California coast
* New road styles, including off-road trails
* New vehicles, starting with the Hatch and Sports car
* Vehicle customisation, both for style and physics tuning
* Options for combustion engines and manual transmissions for all vehicles
* Configurable traffic modes - set density, speed, and which lane(s) they drive in
* A music interface for playing from local files or public radio stations
* Improved scenery detail and high-definition assets
*   Improved controller support
* Profiles for saving your progress and settings
* Expanded settings for gameplay and graphics
*   Milestone achievements
Lastly, buying on Steam enables the web version to remain free and ad-free for everybody, while supporting ongoing development. Since initial release in 2022, the web version has never featured ads, microtransactions, or paywalls. It will remain this way and will continue to receive small updates into the future, though will represent a more minimal experience of the game.
Try the demo!
-------------
The demo gives a short (distance-limited) sample of the main features in the game, and is the best way to test gameplay and compatibility. Some features are locked or limited in the demo, but all are instantly available in the full game.
Post-launch roadmap
-------------------
Slow Roads is a living project, with active development of extra locations, features, and vehicles continuing beyond initial release. The list is long, but the main goals for upcoming updates include:
* Force feedback support for wheel controllers
* Rain, dynamic weather effects, and a day/night cycle
* New locations set elsewhere in the world (see WIP of an Alps location above)
* Enhanced environmental details like structures and wildlife
* A world editor allowing you to alter parameters and generate custom locations
These are intended to be free updates to the core game, added after the initial version 1 release. There are currently no plans to gate future features behind DLCs, though as the core game grows the base price may rise in alignment.
Human-made over 5 years
-----------------------
No AI has been used to generate any code or content in or about the game, and never will be. Slow Roads has been a labour of love since the project began in 2021, and has been built with a decade of experience in 3D graphics and creative software development. Textures are hand-drawn, sounds are recorded locally, and all systems are designed and engineered specifically for the unique context of the game. This is a solo-developed project that I take great care over, and I believe AI simply doesn't belong in creative projects like these.
_Please note that procedural generation is not a form of generative AI; the procedures used to generate the world in the game are mathematical functions that have been derived and defined by hand, with direct creative intent._

- Hardware Profile:
  - Summary: Across the provided Windows hardware cohorts, player reports are uniformly positive, with no non-recommended performance complaints. Both lower-VRAM and 8-11GB VRAM systems describe the game as running well and being well optimized.
  - Sample size: 49 (28% coverage)
  - Audience skew: Review sample is mostly Windows-based.
  - Windows <8GB VRAM (positive, 18 reports): The included 6GB VRAM Windows 11 report says the game runs great on that system.
  - Windows 8-11GB VRAM (positive, 14 reports): All three included reports are recommended and describe fluid performance, strong optimization, and smooth 4K offline play.
  - Caveats: 49 of 173 reviews expose hardware metadata.; Review sample is mostly Windows-based.
Feature extractions:
- Community Price:
  - Community fair range: $4.00 - $8.00
  - Reasoning: The reviews show a split but bounded consensus around the current price. Positive voices explicitly call the existing price tag fair and worth supporting the developer, and one states nothing can match what the game offers at its price point, anchoring the upper bound near the current $7.99. At the same time, skeptics argue the content is too close to the free demo and describe it as slightly too expensive, suggesting a price about $4 lower (roughly $3-4) would feel right, and one dismisses the ~$7.69 tag as comparable to much larger games. Taken together, the community's fair base-game value sits between roughly $4 (acceptable for a short, demo-like chill experience) and $8 (fair for those who want to support the dev), so the fair range is $4-$8.
- Playtime Metrics:
  - Game completion: N/A
  - Story completion: N/A
  - Session length: 1.5h
  - Endgame: N/A
  - Reasoning: The reported sessions range from about half an hour to one hour, with one player explicitly describing a two-hour relaxed session and another saying they could easily sink in for hours. This supports an estimated typical session length of about 1.5 hours. No provided review describes completing the game, finishing a story, or reaching a defined endgame, so gameCompletion, storyCompletion, and endgame are left null.
- Time-to-fun:
  - Summary: Players describe the game as immediately addictive and engaging through endless procedural road exploration, with no reported later unlock point. The main caveats are that it lacks multiplayer and is not aimed at players seeking hyper-realistic progression.
  - Stance: Fun immediately
  - Anchor: N/A
  - Time to anchor: N/A
  - Friction: Expectations of a hyper-realistic driving sim with progression; No multiplayer; Wanting to drive with friends and finding no multiplayer support
  - Unlock drivers: N/A

Common complaints:
- Handling and control problems (weight 0.36): Vehicle handling is suspicious, poor, and hard to control at speed, with frequent skidding. Handling issues significantly detracted from the experience.
- Limited locations and variety (weight 0.35): Only a few locations exist at the moment, and environments lack variety. Both the map and driving scenarios feel limited and repetitive.
- Rain and weather missing (weight 0.31): Rainy weather and dynamic weather systems are absent, leaving environments static. This reduces immersion and variety in driving conditions.
- Settings menu bugs (weight 0.3): The settings menu does not properly apply changes and feels poorly made. A G29 wheel bug causes the game to stop recognizing the wheel after configuration changes.
- Bare and repetitive interior (weight 0.23): The car interior is bare bones, with repetitive decorations and appearance. The interior could be improved for a more detailed experience.
- No force feedback (weight 0.18): Steering wheels lack force feedback, removing clutch and road feel. This makes wheel-based driving feel disconnected and unrealistic.

- Car sounds incorrect (weight 0.1): The car does not sound right, affecting audio realism. Engine and vehicle audio need improvement.
- Missing route depth (weight 0.1): Routes lack side roads, highways, intersections, and places to get lost. This limits exploration and driving variety.
- NPC drivers pull guns (weight 0.1): Other drivers pull guns on the player when they lane split, which is unrealistic behavior. This breaks immersion and seems inappropriate.
- Top speed inaccuracies (weight 0.1): Top speed is off compared to the real car, reducing simulation accuracy. This impacts realism for enthusiasts.
- Clutch does not work (weight 0.1): The clutch does not work because you can switch gears without pressing it. This undermines manual transmission realism.
- Performance lags at high settings (weight 0.1): Lags occur in some areas at the highest graphics settings, impacting smooth gameplay. Optimization is needed for high-end configurations.
- Limited Chinese language options (weight 0.09): Only Simplified Chinese is available among Chinese language options, limiting accessibility. Other Chinese variants are not supported.
