**A Short Description**
-----------------------
Swan Song is a cozy and emotional puzzle game. Use notes of different shapes and sizes to program a music box and solve each puzzle. Help the swan reach the exit as you uncover a touching story of family, loss and grief.
**How does it work?**
---------------------
Each puzzle is a piece of music waiting to be written. Place musical notes on your scale. Their position determines which platforms activate when the melody plays. Once you’ve composed your solution, turn the key and let the music guide the swan through the level.
Perfect timing and thoughtful placement are the keys to success. Between puzzles, a touching narrative slowly unfolds, revealing the story of the music box’s creator and the family it was made for.
**The Story**
-------------
You discover an old, mysterious music box filled with personal artifacts. This was the creator’s final masterpiece, his “swan song”. Lovingly crafted as a tribute to his family.
With every puzzle you solve, fragments of his story come to light. What happened to the family? What secrets does the box hold? Let the music lead you through a story of grief, memories & regret.
CONTENT WARNING:
Please be aware that the story of Swan Song deals with themes of death & terminal illness.
Swan Song's future free updates
-------------------------------
We will update Swan Song with some free updates in the months after release. These of course include some bug fixes, but we also have some additional content planned! Later this year you can expect to get your hands on the level editor, so you can create your own levels and share them on the steam workshop. This level editor will also get some updates with platforms and additional mechanics never seen in the main story! We will also be working on proper controller & better Steam Deck support. A console release of Swan Song is something we really want to do! We are working on it, but don't have an exact release plan for it yet. Stay tuned for more!

- Hardware Profile: No data
Feature extractions:
- Community Price:
  - Community fair range: $10.00 - $20.00
  - Reasoning: The reviews strongly endorse the game's value: it is called a great deal and very well priced, and reviewers say full price is acceptable and that the game is worth the price despite a short four-hour runtime. The only caution is a recommendation to buy on sale because of the length. This suggests the community considers a fair base-game price to be roughly in the $10-$20 range, with $15 as a likely sweet spot.
- Playtime Metrics:
  - Game completion: 5.0h
  - Story completion: 3.0h
  - Session length: N/A
  - Endgame: 2.0h
  - Reasoning: The main story estimate is supported by the quote reporting story completion in 2 to 2.5 hours and by other reports of roughly 3 hours for the main game; I use 3 hours as a central story completion estimate. Full completion is supported by the 5-hour nine-chapter report with secret levels adding playtime, the 4-hour main story plus secrets report, and the about under 10 hours for 100% content report; I use 5 hours as a practical central game completion estimate. The extra or secret puzzle content is supported by the quote stating extra puzzles took about 2 hours, so endgame is set to 2 hours. No review gives a clear average play-session duration, so sessionLength is null.
- Time-to-fun:
  - Summary: The core puzzle loop is reported as fun from the start, with experimentation, forgiving failure, and satisfying click moments. Some players cite a dull early story, gentle pacing, or repetitive puzzles, but these do not outweigh the immediate puzzle enjoyment in the strongest evidence.

- Music does not affect gameplay (weight 0.09): The music plays no role in gameplay and is just theming. Some grew weary of the music box motif.
- Visual clutter and overlapping notes (weight 0.06): In the beginning of each puzzle, visual clutter from overlapping notes makes it hard to discern the pieces to use. This detracts from the puzzle-solving experience.
