Common complaints:
- Alchemy system lacks depth (weight 0.62): The alchemy system, a core element of the Atelier series, is widely criticized for being overly simplified and less engaging than in previous titles. Many reviewers feel it lacks depth, strategic elements, and a sense of accomplishment, with some even suggesting it feels unnecessary or like a mobile game mechanic.
- Too easy and unpolished (weight 0.31): The game is criticized for being too easy, even on higher difficulty settings, leading to a lack of challenge and strategic depth in combat. Reviewers also mention an overabundance of tutorials, a slow start, and a general lack of polish, contributing to a feeling that the game is unfinished or rushed.
- Problematic camera controls (weight 0.17): The game suffers from significant camera issues, including limited vertical range, erratic movement, and clipping problems. Reviewers also report unresponsive aiming, input lag, and a lack of customization options, making it difficult to control the camera and aim accurately, especially with keyboard and mouse.
- Outdated and blurry graphics (weight 0.12): The game's graphics are criticized for being subpar for a modern full-price game, with blurry textures, jagged edges, and clipping issues. Reviewers also mention that the graphics look outdated and comparable to games from several years ago, even on the highest settings.
- Undercooked base building system (weight 0.1): The base building system is criticized for being undercooked, clunky, and limited, with janky object placement, snapping issues, and rotation problems. Reviewers also mention restrictions on construction, area limitations, and a lack of interactive items, making the housing system feel like an afterthought.
- Poor controller support (weight 0.09): The game suffers from controller issues, including incorrect button displays, a lack of customization options, and unintuitive mapping. Reviewers also report bugs with gamepad/controller and difficulties performing certain actions without a mouse, indicating poor controller optimization and porting.
- Excessive bloom and lighting (weight 0.08): The game's lighting effects are criticized for being excessively bright and overwhelming, with excessive bloom and light rays that wash out colors and obscure details. Reviewers also mention inconsistencies in the main character's appearance and behavior, creating a sense of incongruity.
- Unpolished and confusing UI (weight 0.08): The UI and overall presentation are criticized for lacking polish, being confusing, and feeling cheap. Reviewers describe the UI as sluggish, unresponsive, and poorly designed, making it difficult to navigate menus and understand game mechanics.
- Excessive sexualization concerns (weight 0.06): Some reviewers express concern over the sexualization of the main character and the game's reliance on sex appeal, which detracts from the healing atmosphere of previous Atelier games. Others criticize the game's story for involving verbal abuse and exploitation of the protagonist, making it difficult to empathize with her.
- Poor map design and controls (weight 0.06): The game's map is criticized for being slow to open, difficult to read, and filled with question marks that ruin the joy of exploration. Reviewers also mention cursor instability, unintuitive keybinds, and a large map size that feels pointless due to poor map design.

Gameplay feedback:
- Open world exploration focus (weight 0.31): The game features an open world with exploration, resource gathering, and puzzles. Traversal is improved with climbing and tools like ziplines. Some find the open world engaging, while others feel it can be empty or tedious, with scattered points of interest gating progression.
- Exploration and combat flaws (weight 0.08): Some reviewers found exploration tedious due to map design and navigation issues. Combat can suffer from visual clutter and close distances. The triple jump system can be inconsistent, and pathfinding can be frustrating early on.
- Rifle adds new mechanics (weight 0.07): The protagonist utilizes a rifle for combat, environmental interaction, and puzzle-solving. This adds new mechanics and combat styles to the gameplay. Yumia also has unique abilities like triple jump and mana control.
- Departure from Atelier formula (weight 0.06): The game represents a departure from previous Atelier titles with its combat system and open-world elements. Some feel it retains the core Atelier formula while evolving to a modern game base. Others find it weird and disconnected, drawing inspiration from other games.
- Item recombination and bonuses (weight 0.05): The game features item recombination, where items are created from multiple pre-made items, inheriting bonuses. Combat items function like new abilities with their own combos. Recipe levels are crucial for item creation.
- Progression tied to preparation (weight 0.04): Progression is tied to map exploration, puzzle-solving, and raising recipe levels. Spending time on gathering and mixing strengthens the player, potentially overshadowing RPG elements. Prioritizing the 'Resonance Fragment Acquisition' skill tree is recommended.
- Map secrets and rewards (weight 0.04): The map contains many secrets marked with question marks, leading to rewards for character abilities, recipes, and equipment. Some reviewers find this reminiscent of other open-world games. Areas outside the question marks contain treasure chests with better loot.
- Adjustable difficulty levels (weight 0.04): The game offers adjustable difficulty levels, including Very Hard. However, the AI on Very Hard may not be very intelligent, requiring manual character switching. Some reviewers found the game too easy on Normal difficulty for the first several hours.
- Limited skill customization (weight 0.03): Skills are limited in number and have cooldowns, but can be chained together. There are options for vanguard or rear positioning for strategic depth. Some reviewers found the lack of customization limiting.
- Similar to Genshin Impact (weight 0.03): Some reviewers felt the gameplay and map exploration were similar to Genshin Impact. The party setup and interface resemble popular gacha games. The game is described as a mix of Zelda, Palworld, and Genshin Impact elements.

Performance notes:
- High CPU and VRAM usage (weight 0.38): The game's CPU and VRAM usage is high, with some users reporting the game being CPU-dependent. Some players are experiencing high VRAM usage even with unimpressive visuals. Adjusting texture quality can mitigate stuttering.
- Limited upscaling, graphics options (weight 0.32): The game lacks DLSS and FSR support, only offering XeSS. Some players found that disabling certain features like Light Rays or Intel DLSS improved performance. The game sometimes defaults to integrated graphics cards.
- Texture and visual fidelity issues (weight 0.11): Some reviewers noted jagged or blurry textures, pixelated graphics, and excessive bloom/light shafts that cause eye strain. Character models may clip through the environment, and skin shaders can be poorly configured. Rainy weather can exacerbate graphical issues.
- Frequent crashes and bugs (weight 0.09): Players have encountered various bugs, including camera issues, getting stuck in terrain, and lighting problems. The game also suffers from frequent crashes, sometimes requiring a restart to fix controller input issues.
- Post-launch patches, setting adjustments (weight 0.06): Some reviewers noted that the game received a day-one patch that improved performance. Graphics settings can be adjusted, but may require a full game restart to apply. The game has many options for optimization, suggesting future improvements are likely.
- Optimization worse than Ryza 3 (weight 0.03): Some reviewers feel the game's optimization is worse than 'Atelier Ryza 3', with similar or worse graphics performance. The game is graphically demanding, even more so than 'Monster Hunter'.
- Loading pauses and loading bars (weight 0.02): Players are experiencing loading pauses when talking to NPCs and after fast traveling. Cutscenes also feature loading bars, which detracts from the experience.
- Control settings bugs (weight 0.02): Some players have encountered bugs related to control settings. These include the 'confirm button assignment' reverting to OFF upon restarting and the control button guide displaying both gamepad and keyboard/mouse inputs simultaneously.

- Potential performance workarounds (weight 0.01): Disabling all HID entries in Device Manager or reducing resolution to 2K may improve frame rates for some users.

Recommendations:
- Price too high; wait for sale (weight 0.73): The game's high price point is a recurring concern. Many suggest waiting for a sale, especially given Koei Tecmo's history of discounting games. Some feel the game isn't worth the full price in its current state due to technical issues or lack of innovation.
- Poor performance; wait for fixes (weight 0.65): Many reviewers recommend waiting for patches or sales due to significant performance and optimization issues, especially on PC. Some suggest trying the demo or purchasing on console instead. These issues severely impact the gameplay experience and make it difficult to recommend at full price.
- Divisive changes to core mechanics (weight 0.32): A significant point of contention is the game's departure from traditional Atelier mechanics, particularly the alchemy system. Some appreciate the changes as a way to broaden the series' appeal, while others feel it sacrifices the core essence of what makes Atelier games enjoyable, potentially disappointing long-time fans.
- Try the demo first (weight 0.28): Several reviewers suggest trying the demo before purchasing. This is especially recommended for those new to the series or unsure about the changes. The demo allows players to assess performance and gameplay to determine if the game suits their preferences.
- Bland, generic, and unoptimized (weight 0.13): Some reviewers express strong negative opinions, comparing the game unfavorably to titles like Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves. They criticize the game for being bland, generic, and poorly optimized, leading to a recommendation against purchasing it.
- Camera and control issues (weight 0.05): Several reviews mention issues with the camera and controls, impacting exploration and puzzle-solving. These issues contribute to a feeling of the game being unpolished and can even cause motion sickness in some players. Recommendation is contingent on these issues being addressed.
- Personal enjoyment expressed (weight 0.02): Some reviewers express strong personal enjoyment, even considering the game a GOTY contender or a masterpiece. However, these points lack specific details and constructive feedback.
- Combat system needs overhaul (weight 0.01): One cluster focuses on the combat system, suggesting it needs a complete overhaul if the game aims to be an action title. The reviewer suggests specific control schemes for mouse and keyboard.

Other player notes:
- Incomplete, unoriginal feeling (weight 0.17): Some reviewers express reservations about recommending the game wholeheartedly, even while enjoying it to some extent. This is often due to the game borrowing elements from other titles without fully committing to them, leading to a feeling of incompleteness or lack of originality.
- Focus on character appearance (weight 0.05): Several reviewers focus on the physical appearance and design of the character Yumia. While some express appreciation, others make suggestive comments or express concerns about character proportions, which detracts from constructive feedback.
- Tedious alchemy, content concerns (weight 0.02): Concerns exist regarding the game's content and balance, particularly in later stages. Reviewers cite issues such as an overabundance of certain materials (like iron scraps), a lack of overall content due to the game's size, and a tedious alchemy system.
- High CPU usage (weight 0.01): Some users are reporting surprisingly high CPU usage. This could indicate optimization issues that impact performance, especially for players with less powerful hardware.
- High NPC model reuse (weight 0.01): While NPC models have been updated, reviewers note a high reuse rate. This can detract from the overall immersion and sense of novelty within the game world.
- Dynamic camera causes motion sickness (weight 0.01): The dynamic camera movement is a point of contention. While some find it immersive, others experience motion sickness, indicating a need for options to customize or disable this feature.
- No English dub available (weight 0.01): The absence of an English dub may disappoint some players who prefer to experience the game in their native language. This limits accessibility and personal preference.
- Basic character customization (weight 0.01): Character customization options are limited, restricting player expression and personalization. This can be a drawback for players who enjoy creating unique characters.
