About the Game
==============
Godslayer Arena is a roguelike fusion of autobattlers and action-rpgs. The core gameplay loop revolves around drafting spells to synergize with each other, and figuring out where they should be placed.
You have no control once combat begins, and your survival will depend on the strength of the build you have drafted.
At its core, Godslayer Arena is a strategy game focusing on complex and deep spell interactions. Each run will test your understanding of the game's core systems.
Break the game. Min max your build. Become overpowered.
Before you begin each battle, you’ll be offered a selection of different spells that you can purchase through the spell shop. You’ll then be offered the choice of being able to refresh your shop for more spells, or to gain experience. The more experience you gain the higher your shop level will be, which in turn offers you a better chance of finder higher tier spells.
Each spell comes with a set of “traits”, which grant powerful effects if you equip enough unique spells of the same trait. Holding three of a kind will upgrade your spells to stronger versions of themselves.
Spells are cast from left to right and interact with each other in various ways, meaning the position of your spells matters a lot. For example, certain spells may fire damaging projectiles, and other support type spells can increase the amount of projectiles fired by those spells if you choose to place them next to each other. There are lots of different spell interactions which include increasing area of effect, granting bonus spellpower, increasing/lowering mana costs, autocasting/combo casting spells, bonuses to basic attacks and more.
Mastery cards further enhance your build by offering powerful spells unique to the class that you play as. These cards are only offered once per run and must be chosen carefully. Items provide unique build defining effects, and gems provided your spells powerful modifications.

- Hardware Profile: No data
Feature extractions:
- Community Price:
  - Community fair range: $7.99 - $14.99
  - Reasoning: Positive reviews say the game is worth its current price and that there is enough content to justify full price, supporting an upper bound near the current $15 tier. Price-sensitive reviews reject $15 as too high and cite $10 or $6.99-$7.99 as fair, supporting a lower bound around $8. The split suggests the community fair base-game range is roughly $7.99 to $14.99, with stronger acceptance near $10-$15 but notable demand for a lower price.
- Playtime Metrics:
  - Game completion: 1.0h
  - Story completion: N/A
  - Session length: 1.0h
  - Endgame: N/A
  - Reasoning: The quote stating that a full run is like an hour supports a one-hour gameCompletion estimate for finishing a run and a one-hour sessionLength for a typical run or session. The difficulty 7 quote corroborates run length at higher difficulty with 40+ minute runs. The achievements quote shows endgame content exists, but it gives no hour value, so endgame remains null. No review provides story completion time, so storyCompletion is null.

  - Unlock drivers: Reading tooltips and tweaking builds; Playing early levels on fast speed; Mastering the build and randomness systems; Working through the tutorial's spell variety
  - Conditions: Tolerance for a steeper learning curve; Willingness to read tooltips and tweak builds; Playing on fast speed to move past slow early levels; Enjoyment of buildcrafting and random variety; Patience with minimal meta-progression

- Performance Issues and Bugs (weight 0.38): The game suffers from frequent bugs, frame drops, and performance problems, especially in late game and during long play sessions. Issues may be due to memory leaks or CPU limitations.
- Lack of Player Agency (weight 0.38): The game plays itself with minimal player control; players only pick skills and watch, with no involvement during runs and no active skills.
- Lack of Communication from Developer (weight 0.33): The solo developer does not respond anywhere and has been missing in action for months, with no updates or replies to the community.
- Unbalanced Skills and Characters (weight 0.29): Skills and characters are poorly balanced, with some being useless on higher difficulties and others trivializing content. The warrior and huntress have vastly different power levels.

- Insufficient Content in Early Access (weight 0.25): The game lacks content, with too little to do, and is very incomplete for a title that has been on Steam for nearly a year. Early access feels lacking despite some content.

- Runs Are Too Long (weight 0.22): Runs take too long, often lasting 40 minutes to an hour, which is excessive and drawn out, especially at higher difficulties.
- Poor Rewards and Progression (weight 0.22): Progress doesn't feel rewarding; maxing characters makes the skill pool bigger with bad choices, and unlocks make you weaker. Gems are given at a snail's pace.
- Lack of Quality-of-Life Features (weight 0.21): The game is missing many quality-of-life features such as run history, a full character stat screen, play-test functions, and the ability to pause.

- Pricing Too High for Value (weight 0.14): The price is considered too high for what you get, with many saying it should be around $6.99-$7.99 instead of $15.

Gameplay feedback:
- Core autobattler gameplay loop (weight 0.56): Reviewers consistently identify the game as an autobattler where combat runs automatically. Characters move and fight on their own, requiring players to focus on strategy rather than direct control.
- Buildcrafting and synergies (weight 0.41): The game emphasizes creating builds with different combos and synergies. Players appreciate the flexible build combinations and the variety of viable setups available.
- Limited hero roster (weight 0.28): Only two heroes are available: a warrior and a huntress. Each has a unique set of spells, but the small roster may limit variety for some players.

- Smooth and Stable Experience (weight 0.09): Some players report that the game runs smooth on their system and is stable, indicating that performance issues are not universal. This positive feedback contrasts with the prevalent complaints.
- Frame Drops After Two Hours (weight 0.06): Frame drops generally occur after about 2 hours of gameplay, suggesting a time-dependent degradation. This pattern aligns with potential memory leak or resource accumulation issues.
