Info about Cavern Adventurers:

Official game description:
In a faraway fantasy kingdom, everything was peaceful... Until monsters started pouring out of a hole in the ground!
Put together a team of adventurers to secure, explore, and develop a vast underground network of caves in this cavern management simulator.
Your adventurers will face all kinds of challenges in the underground, but there's no obstacle you can't deal with if you know how. Place torches to light up the darkness, build bridges to traverse gorges, and use explosives to clear away large rocks!
To create a truly great cave, you'll have to stay on your toes and pay attention to the time of day. When the sun's up, organize your miners to discover new areas and build new fixtures. And when night falls, send in your adventurers to show those monsters who's boss! The deeper you dig, the better the treasure you'll find - just how deep can you go?
All that fame can come at a price. As your cave becomes more popular, thieves will appear to try and make off with its treasures. Keep your booty safe by laying devious traps around the entrance!
Not all monsters are bad. Some of them might even become your friends and fight alongside you!
Once you make an entire floor safe, merchants will be able to move in and set up shop there. With a cut of the profits for you, of course! Keep developing the space and earning gold, and pretty soon you'll have the finest cave in all the land!
In this quirky management sim, fun, adventure, and riches are lurking right under your nose... Or should we say, right under your boots?

Below are summaries of things people say about the game per category.
Each point is assigned a weight that represents how often it is mentioned across all reviews.
What players like:
- Resource management and progression (weight 0.44): The game features a blend of resource management, construction, and combat, allowing players to develop their cave, upgrade adventurers, and acquire resources. Progression is straightforward, with diverse content that expands as the player progresses.
- Enjoyable, fresh Kairosoft experience (weight 0.3): The game delivers an enjoyable and fresh experience within the established Kairosoft framework, maintaining the brand's quality with refined pixel art and engaging gameplay. It offers a different perspective compared to other games, making it more enjoyable than some previous titles.
- Good for short, casual play (weight 0.27): The game is suitable for short-term play and killing time, with an engaging early game. The combination of cave exploration, adventure, and management gameplay is interesting and avoids disjointedness.
- Shifts to idle gameplay (weight 0.18): The game transitions from requiring active clicking in the early stages to becoming more idle-focused in the mid-game. Resource scarcity is not an issue, and resources accumulate quickly, allowing for team expansion and equipment upgrades.
- Improved PC version available (weight 0.09): The availability of a PC version is a significant improvement, with using a mouse being more convenient than the mobile controls. The reviewer was looking forward to playing the game on PC, as they had previously played it on their smartphone.
- Quality of life improvements (weight 0.07): The game introduces much needed QOL controls like a fast forward button and quick buttons to spend resources without opening menus. The game offers an auto-equip feature for quickly equipping gear, prioritizing convenience.
- Good sound and art design (weight 0.06): The sound design is well-done, with satisfying sounds for gold, slimes, and monster noises. The pixel art style is cute and soothing, including the monster designs.

Common complaints:
- Poorly optimized mobile port (weight 0.25): The game's UI is poorly optimized for PC, indicating a direct mobile port. Reviewers found the UI complex, difficult to use, and lacking sufficient guidance, leading to a chaotic and disorganized gameplay experience.
- Mobile-game monetization on PC (weight 0.23): The game's design feels heavily influenced by free-to-play mobile mechanics, even on PC. Reviewers criticized the stamina system and the reliance on premium currency (diamonds) for progression, which feels out of place in a paid game.
- Below average experience (weight 0.19): The game is considered below average and not very fun. Some reviewers feel that the game is a failure compared to previous entries in the series.
- Progression-blocking bugs (weight 0.12): Several reviewers reported progression-blocking bugs that prevent players from advancing beyond certain levels. These bugs severely impact the player experience and can halt progress entirely.
- Tedious character upgrades (weight 0.11): The game's character upgrade system is overly complicated and tedious to use. Reviewers found the process of upgrading hero skills frustrating due to slow, incremental clicks.
- Cumbersome warehouse management (weight 0.11): Warehouse management is cumbersome due to limited capacity and a lack of commonality between warehouses. This makes facility movement difficult and turning items into gold tedious.
- Generic and random progression (weight 0.09): The game has random character, monster, and equipment rank-ups. Additionally, monsters and equipment lack individual names, further reducing player engagement.
- Restrictive item acquisition (weight 0.06): Obtaining rare items is restricted by real-time constraints, forcing players to adhere to specific conditions and timeframes. This limits player freedom and can be frustrating for those who cannot play during those times.
- Inconvenient worker assignments (weight 0.06): Assigning workers to specific floors is cumbersome, requiring individual house clicks for each worker instead of a batch assignment system. Additionally, it's difficult to track worker assignments and information.
- Uninspired cave design (weight 0.06): Caves are bland and repetitive, lacking incentive for full exploration. The staggered entry times for miners and adventurers into the caves are illogical, restricting adventurer activities to nighttime.
- Shallow facility management (weight 0.06): Facility management lacks depth, with most combinations being viable, making the process feel arbitrary. The constant need for rearranging facilities can become tedious, even for players who enjoy strategic placement.

Gameplay feedback:
- Day/night cave management cycle (weight 0.95): The core gameplay loop revolves around managing a cave by day and night. During the day, players focus on mining, resource management, and constructing facilities. At night, they switch to combat, defending against monsters and exploring dungeons with adventurers.
- Gacha-based character progression system (weight 0.56): The game features gacha mechanics for recruiting adventurers and monsters, acquiring equipment, and leveling them up. Players can strategically combine their skills and equipment for efficient combat and dungeon exploration.
- Monsters as companions and defenders (weight 0.35): Monsters play a significant role, serving as companions for battle, dispatched for treasure hunting, or defending the cave. Players can raise monsters in a farm to assist in battles and level them up for increased combat power.
- Prioritize specific unit types (weight 0.09): Character leveling should focus on specific unit types for optimal efficiency. For example, prioritize 3 axe units, 3 spear units, 6 bow units, and 6 gun units.
- Identity crisis: builder or idle? (weight 0.06): Some reviewers feel the game struggles with its identity, unsure whether it's a simulation builder or an AFK game. The game has an auto mode that allows it to be played as an idle game.
- Efficient monster leveling strategy (weight 0.06): Monster leveling is most efficient by focusing on a single monster type with a large number of captures. Low-level exploration quests are the fastest way to level up monsters.
- Infinite stamina exploit (weight 0.04): Players can create a mass production line to sell trash items for virtually infinite stamina recovery. This drastically changes the game's dynamics.
- New game plus elements (weight 0.03): The game includes new game plus elements that can be fully inherited with 12,300+ clear points.
- Villager customisation options (weight 0.03): There's a decent amount of villager customisation with classes and weapons to upgrade.
- Side-scrolling perspective (weight 0.03): The game is played from a side-scrolling perspective, allowing for a clearer view of the underground structure and easier control.
- Undercity resource production (weight 0.03): The undercity produces resources used to upgrade heroes and their weapons.
- Kairosoft-style management (weight 0.03): The game features Kairosoft-style management where it's impossible to lose completely.

These include better dungeon navigation, more dynamic environments with day/night cycles, and expanded building options. These suggestions aim to add depth and complexity to the gameplay experience.

Other player notes:
- Team selection at start (weight 0.09): The game starts with the player choosing one of two or three different explorer combinations or teams, each with clearly defined characteristics. The player also receives starting funds and a mining team from the old king.
- Lenient stamina system (weight 0.09): The game features a stamina system, but it's designed to be more forgiving than in other Kairosoft titles. This suggests the developers are aware of potential player frustration with stamina mechanics in buy-to-play games and have adjusted it accordingly.
- Recruit monster adventurers (weight 0.06): Players can recruit monster adventurers to fight alongside them. The player is tasked by the king to deal with monsters appearing in a previously sealed cave.
- Reseal undefeatable bosses (weight 0.04): Players can re-click on a floor boss to seal it back if they cannot defeat it. This mechanic provides a way to avoid difficult encounters and progress.
- Strategic light source placement (weight 0.04): Players must strategically place light sources to expand the cave. This mechanic likely influences exploration and resource gathering.
- Typical Kairosoft pixel art (weight 0.03): The game's pixel art style is typical of Kairosoft games. This point is a general observation about the game's art style.
- Release platform order (weight 0.03): The reviewer notes that the game was released on Switch before Steam, which was a mistake. This point is an opinion about the release platform strategy.
- Unclear story structure (weight 0.03): The game's story unfolds like an inverted department store. This point is too vague to be useful.
- Hope for future games (weight 0.03): The reviewer is curious about the next game from this developer and hopes they return to game development, also expressing fondness for their manga. This point is not about the game itself.
