About the Game
==============
Cozy Marbles is a comfy game about building marble runs. Using a huge range of bits and pieces from charming homes, fairytale realms and starlit spacecraft, fit together the marble course you’ve always wanted to build and play with. Unwind to a bespoke lo-fi soundtrack and roll with the nostalgia.
Tinker with freeform construction tools and a rich library of parts. Design awesome spirals, twists and drops, then roll your marbles off on their adventure. Take “playing with marbles” to a whole new level by guiding them across complex courses, bouncing over obstacles with boosters, ramps and cannons, floating dreamily through anti-gravity fields, and even making music with xylophone blocks.
Play in a range of environments with themed parts:
* A mellow Living Room, in daylight or at night.
* A whimsical Fairytale Tavern, the perfect place to build a castle coaster or labyrinthine mushroom forest.
* A mesmerizing Space Station for high-tech futurism including portals and laser tunnels.
Build your marble run from wood, metal or plastic, choose its colors and give it a name. Customize your marbles with a range of colors, patterns, national flags, facial expressions, stylish hats and silly little arms that flail while rolling. Beat challenges to unlock even more customization options, track pieces and environments.
Cozy Marbles is a little game with a big brain. Plan and experiment with all sorts of marble constructs, from marble rollercoasters to wacky apparatus. Watch your marbles flow through carefully laid routes… or fly way off track!
Assemble a marble course, drop your marbles and watch them race to the end. Use checkpoints to split the track or set up multiple start and finish lines wherever you want. Make your race sweet and simple, or huge and complex with tons of laps and hundreds of marbles! May the best one win.
The next step after perfecting your marble masterpiece (or diabolical marble trap) is to share it with the world. Export and import courses to show off your build and try everyone else’s. If you’re a streamer, use Twitch integration to let Twitch Chat drop marbles into your course and join your race!

Common complaints:
- Building placement feels restrictive (weight 0.37): Object placement is often too restrictive, with poor snapping, limited freedom, and difficulty in aligning track pieces. Even basic ideas can be frustrating to implement, and building wider lanes or walls is troublesome.
- Lacks depth and quality (weight 0.35): The game is not as deep or high-quality as Trackmania or Marble World in level customization, and lacks classic gameplay elements. It feels bare and repetitive, with limited customization options that fail to hold long-term interest.
- Physics and performance problems (weight 0.29): Marble physics can be inconsistent, with balls frequently stopping, clipping through floors, or behaving erratically on cannons and loops. Performance also degrades with several hundred marbles, causing lag and stability issues.
- Missing quality-of-life features (weight 0.28): Several quality-of-life features are absent, such as snapping to align with platforms, mirror mode, native controller support, and the ability to hide marble names during races. These omissions negatively impact gameplay and accessibility, especially on handhelds.
- Unlock system hinders creativity (weight 0.27): Players report that basic building pieces and track parts must be unlocked through challenges or a ticket-based store, which conflicts with the free creative atmosphere. This grind-based progression forces unwanted tasks and delays access to essential tools.
- Track connection issues persist (weight 0.23): Magnetic connections between tracks are poor and often connect in unexpected places, while complex tracks easily attach to objects below. This leads to frustration when building and can cause marbles to get stuck or take wrong paths.
- Repetitive gameplay and content (weight 0.22): Players note that the game becomes repetitive quickly and depends heavily on creativity for track design. The small variety of parts, one music track, and limited customization options contribute to boredom after a short time.
- Building mechanics have quirks (weight 0.21): Building has annoying quirks and limitations, such as objects animating rather than being physics-based, and track pieces feeling one-lane heavy. Some specific objects like the merger piece are difficult to use effectively.
- Bugs and interface annoyances (weight 0.21): Various bugs exist, including courses becoming invisible, marbles getting stuck on loop coasters, and a persistent supporter pack message. These issues detract from the experience and may not have been fully addressed by patches.
- Marble customization lacks depth (weight 0.13): Customization options for marbles are limited, with no custom color selection for each pattern and missing styles like stripes, glass, or metal. This reduces the potential for personal expression.
- Some gameplay elements broken (weight 0.13): Certain mechanics are broken or unclear, such as cannons launching marbles inconsistently and elevators spilling marbles. These issues make it difficult to create reliable or fair race courses.
- Camera and track orientation issues (weight 0.11): Track orientation is difficult to observe, and following marbles on large circuits is poorly handled. This makes building and racing less intuitive and can be disorienting.
- Limited building area and space (weight 0.1): Players can only build within a designated area, and the surrounding space is merely background, limiting creativity and expansion. This restricts track design possibilities and may frustrate builders who want more room.
- Game loses interest quickly (weight 0.09): Some players and their children lose interest shortly after the tutorial, indicating a lack of engaging content or rewarding progression. The game may not hold attention for long sessions.
- Achievements and support issues (weight 0.08): Steam achievements were not working after release, and a supporter pack message would not disappear, indicating rough launch issues. These technical problems can affect player satisfaction and trust.
- No classic gameplay mode (weight 0.06): The lack of classic gameplay is a notable omission for some players, who expect traditional marble racing or similar modes. This reduces the game's appeal to those seeking a more structured experience.
