Info about Krita:

Official game description:
Krita is a powerful digital painting and animation application designed for illustrators, designers, comic makers, animators, game artists and more. It’s used all over the world by artists of every level: from absolute beginners to seasoned professionals.
One big thing that sets Krita apart is that it’s _fully open source and community-driven_. This means that it’s developed transparently in coordination with a global community of volunteer artists and programmers, working together to make a great tool for everyone. There are no activation codes, mandatory subscription fees or other roadblocks, because as members of the digital art community, Krita belongs to all of us--to use, to modify, to design and to share.
Krita’s unique development model is only made possible thanks to the support of our users, and _by buying through Steam you will be directly supporting Krita's future development_. What’s more, buying Krita through Steam also brings the convenience of _easy installation_ on all your supported devices and _automatic updates_ each time a new version is released.
Finally, because Krita is an open source and community-driven project you will always have full access and rights to download and modify Krita's source code; whether you want to modify it for personal use, or work with the community to make Krita better for everyone. You can also download Krita for free from the Krita Foundation website (of course, without any of the benefits of owning through Steam). In order to create a potent tool for artists everywhere, we believe it has to be not only open source but also accessible to as many people as possible no matter their situation and resources. As such, for those who maybe can’t afford Krita or are still unsure about supporting our work, we encourage you to try it out first, hopefully supporting us later if you can, and only because you want to.
There's truly no limit to what Krita can be if we work together as a community.

Feature scans:
- Proton/Linux: score 10; verdict: Works Well; summary: Krita is highly praised for its strong native Linux support and cross-platform compatibility. While there are minor Linux-specific issues reported, they do not significantly detract from the overall positive experience. The software is considered a competent alternative to Photoshop and runs smoothly on various Linux distributions.
- Steam Deck: score 20; verdict: Seamless with Minor Optimizations Needed; summary: Krita is highly regarded for its strong compatibility and performance on Linux, making it a competent alternative to other digital art software. While the Steam version offers ease of installation and supports developers, it may not receive as much attention. Some users report optimization issues on Linux, but overall, Krita is praised for its cross-platform support and smooth performance across various operating systems.

- Hardware Profile:
  - Summary: Performance varies significantly across different hardware cohorts, with higher VRAM generally yielding better results.
  - Sample size: 67 (3% coverage)
  - Audience skew: Review sample spans multiple hardware setups, but not evenly.
  - Windows <8GB VRAM (negative, 32 reports): Users report crashes and instability.
  - Caveats: 67 of 2012 reviews expose hardware metadata.; Review sample spans multiple hardware setups, but not evenly.
Feature extractions:
- Community Price:
  - Community fair range: $5.00 - $10.00
  - Reasoning: The evidence suggests that users find Krita to be a valuable tool, often comparing it favorably to more expensive software like Photoshop. Many users mention that it is worth the money, especially when purchased on sale. The general sentiment is that Krita offers good value for its price, supporting the developers is seen as a positive aspect, and the software is considered affordable even at its full price.
- Playtime Metrics:
  - Game completion: 100.0h
  - Story completion: 200.0h
  - Session length: 2.0h
  - Endgame: 500.0h
  - Reasoning: The evidence provides several data points about playtime. The first quote indicates that a user has spent 43 hours in the game but has barely scratched the surface of the story, suggesting a very long playtime for game completion. The second quote mentions over a thousand hours spent, which, while likely hyperbolic, indicates a very high potential playtime. The third quote mentions 200 hours of using Krita, providing a more moderate data point. The fourth quote mentions 6.5k hours, which is likely an outlier but still indicates that some users spend an enormous amount of time in the game. Given these data points, we can infer that the game completion time is likely very high, and the endgame content can keep players engaged for a significant amount of time.
