Info about Night Raider:

Official game description:
\*\*\*Because I am developing the game alone, my ability and energy are limited, I hope you can understand. It may take me a long time to get around to the reviews, but I will try to make the game better as soon as possible, so give me some time. Due to the large number of comments, I am sorry that I cannot reply to each one by myself, but I will read everyone's comments and take them into consideration. I will devote my energy to the production of the game and update more content and improve the game as soon as possible. Thank you very much for your support. Check out the update schedule below to see what's coming in the future.
Discord:
▲ Combat!
Removing zombies one by one with silenced firearms and close-in weapons will allow you to explore safely most of the time, but you will still inevitably encounter a wave of zombies roaming the streets, so don't let your guard down. If you have enough ammunition, try to use a heavy gun to clean up the enemy!
Don't trust any survivors like you who came from other survivor camps to loot the city. They're more interested in ripping supplies off your hands than they are in a time-consuming search of the city, and humans are much scarier than zombies.
▲ Death!
Once your character dies, you lose all the equipment and supplies you carry, so survival is the key to this game. When your character is killed, you might want to try your luck with scavengers team, who are experts in salvaging lost objects.
▲ Dark!
Face the endless night of the zombie crisis, then feel your way through the darkness. But in the face of other survivors, night may be your weapon.
▲ Refit!
With more than 60 weapons and nearly 200 modified accessories, modify the strongest and most reliable weapons you like to shoot zombies!
▲ Manage!
Irregular item size backpack system. There's always a lot of trash to pick up, so manage your backpack, ditch the worthless goods, and leave with what's really useful.
▲ Explore!
Go to different city scenes and explore different buildings. Be careful with your ammo and supplies, and plan your escape time, once your ammo runs out you will not be able to leave the city alive.
▲ Camp!
While in camp, you'll be safe, interacting with different NPCS, managing warehouses, selling or buying supplies and equipment, or trading treasured supplies for rare items, and of course, you'll be able to talk to an instructor about training programs to improve yourself.

- Unique zombie extraction shooter (weight 0.31): The game offers a unique extraction shooter experience with zombie themes, drawing comparisons to games like Escape from Tarkov and Zero Sievert. Reviewers enjoy the looting, combat, and exploration aspects, finding the gameplay loop satisfying and engaging. The non-PVP extraction gameplay is a plus for many.
- Satisfying looting and hoarding (weight 0.26): The game features a significant amount of loot and a satisfying looting experience, catering to players who enjoy collecting items and hoarding resources. The abundance of loot, combined with manageable survival elements, encourages exploration and inventory management. The game is friendly to hoarders and loot-collecting players.

Reviewers appreciate the balanced challenge and the freedom to progress at their own pace. The game also offers extensive customization options, including character and weapon skins.

Players can modify their weapons at any time, allowing for strategic decision-making and personalization. The gun skin customization system is also a plus.
- Rewarding sense of progression (weight 0.11): The game provides a rewarding sense of progression through character and weapon upgrades. Reviewers find the gameplay loop satisfying and enjoyable, making it a fun time sink. The game is suitable for players who enjoy grinding maps and progressing their characters.
- Relaxing and time-respecting (weight 0.07): The game is relaxing and respects the player's time, making it suitable for casual play. - Improved by quests and skins (weight 0.05): The addition of quests and a skin system has significantly improved the game's playability and longevity. The new quest system is particularly beneficial for new players. The game's progression and questing in the main hub have improved significantly after the last update.
- Helpful in-game community (weight 0.05): The in-game community is helpful and provides guidance for new players. The game features a camp with helpful NPCs that provide items and guidance. The official community group has a positive atmosphere, with active and helpful members.
- Satisfying zombie shooting (weight 0.05): The game offers satisfying zombie shooting experiences, with various weapons and scenarios. The addition of new maps, weather systems, and zombie types in version 1.4 enhances the gameplay. Using sniper rifles to raid survivor camps is particularly enjoyable.
- Appealing pixel art style (weight 0.05): The game features an appealing pixel art style, with detailed weapon switching animations and unique zombie designs. The top-down pixel style and 'gross cute' zombie art are particularly praised. The variety and unique characteristics of the zombies evoke a similar feeling to the SNES game Zombies Ate My Neighbors.

Common complaints:
- Lacks essential QoL features (weight 0.42): The game lacks essential quality-of-life features, such as cloud saves, a mini-map, item price displays, and customizable key bindings. The UI and gameplay feel clunky, and the game lacks depth in content, story, and mission variety, leading to a monotonous and dull experience.
- Excessively low item drop rates (weight 0.42): The game suffers from excessively low drop rates for essential crafting materials, quest items, and end-game gear. This forces players into repetitive grinding, artificially extending playtime and leading to frustration, especially in the early game when upgrading equipment and backpacks is crucial for progression.
- Frequent, unrewarding zombie hordes (weight 0.35): Zombie hordes occur too frequently and offer little to no reward, disrupting exploration and combat flow. The AI is simplistic, with zombies getting stuck and exhibiting strange detection logic. This, combined with unfair indoor spawns and a lack of corpse looting, diminishes the incentive to engage in combat.
- Tedious and repetitive task system (weight 0.24): The task system is tedious and repetitive, consisting mainly of fetch quests and rescue missions that gate progression. The task guidance is cumbersome, and the rewards often outweigh the benefits of exploration, making the game feel like a chore.
- Item redundancy, flawed crafting (weight 0.22): The game suffers from item redundancy, a flawed crafting system, and a lack of clear information on item usage. Many craftable items feel unnecessary, and the game lacks a hint system for item synthesis, leading to frustration and repetitive gameplay focused on item collection.
- Save data loss and corruption (weight 0.2): The game suffers from significant bugs, including save data loss and corruption, often without cloud save functionality. This can lead to substantial progress loss and a frustrating experience, especially after extended playtime.
- Repetitive and uninspired map design (weight 0.19): The map design is repetitive and lacks variety, with severe asset reuse and a sense of sameness across different areas. The maps are simplistic and uninspired, contributing to a boring and formulaic gameplay experience.
- Inconsistent economy, grindy leveling (weight 0.17): The game suffers from an inconsistent economy, with money becoming useless later on. The leveling system is grindy, and the game lacks clear progression mechanics, leading to a frustrating and repetitive experience.
- Poor early game experience (weight 0.15): The early game experience is poor due to limited visibility in the dark, rudimentary graphics, and a lack of polish. The game lacks essential features like gamma correction and stealth mechanics, contributing to a rough and unpolished feel.
- Flawed and inconvenient backpack system (weight 0.15): The backpack system is flawed and inconvenient, with insufficient inventory space and cumbersome management. The lack of one-click transfer and sorting functions makes organizing the warehouse and backpacks tedious.
- Technical issues, clipping, hit detection (weight 0.12): The game suffers from various technical issues, including zombies clipping through walls, hit detection problems, and radiation effects penetrating walls. These issues break immersion and can cause gameplay problems.
- Weapon and throwable imbalance (weight 0.12): Throwables and explosives are underpowered compared to firearms, and weapon imbalance makes assault rifles significantly better than other options. Grenade aiming is flawed, and different ammo types have inconsistent stack sizes, negatively impacting weapon balance.
- Poor boss design, cheap damage (weight 0.11): Boss designs are mindless and rely on mechanics, leading to many deaths on the first encounter. The game features cheap off-screen damage, slow animation, and illogical boss behavior.
- Lacks multiplayer, cloud saves (weight 0.11): The game lacks multiplayer or co-op mode, which would significantly enhance the experience. The game also lacks cloud saving functionality and a mid-game exit option.
- Slow update frequency, lacks content (weight 0.1): The game has slow update frequency, and the developer seems to be focusing on increasing repetitive tasks rather than adding new content and improving details. The lack of new ideas and meaningful content updates can lead to player dissatisfaction.

Gameplay feedback:
- Extraction shooter with looting focus (weight 0.22): The game is a 2D extraction shooter, drawing comparisons to Escape from Tarkov, where players loot, survive, and extract. Maps are procedurally generated, but can feel repetitive. The core gameplay loop revolves around scavenging, extracting, and selling loot.
- Survival mechanics and pet system (weight 0.11): The game incorporates survival mechanics such as hunger, thirst, body temperature, infection, and fatigue. Debilitating status effects like slow and diarrhea can affect gameplay. Pets can assist in looting and fighting, with their own inventory and upgrade system.
- Increasing difficulty adds variety (weight 0.11): The game features varying difficulty levels that introduce new enemies, buildings, and increased spawn rates. Progressing through these difficulties is important to avoid repetitiveness. Higher difficulties may require specific gear, like body armor, to combat hostile humans.
- Gun customization and key-based loot (weight 0.1): The game features gun customization with attachments found while scavenging. Keys are required to open certain doors and vehicles, which contain valuable loot such as weapon bags and ammo boxes.
- Gathering, selling, and base-building (weight 0.09): Players gather items to sell or use in the city, exploring locations like gun and clothing stores. The game also features base-building elements where players collect materials to construct a camp and unlock new NPCs for missions and trading.
- F5 shows item prices (weight 0.04): Pressing 'F5' displays item value (visible after selling once). Other controls include 'L' to activate laser, 'B' to switch fire modes.
- Slot-based inventory system (weight 0.03): The game uses a slot-based inventory system, where item size determines the number of slots occupied. Containers within the backpack can be opened for additional storage.
- Persistent safe box after death (weight 0.03): Items stored in a 'safe box' are saved for the next survivor after death. Specialized storage cases exist for medicine, weapons, keys, cards and money.
- Simple and fun gunplay (weight 0.03): The gunplay is simple and fun, making the game relatively easy to pick up.
- Storyline with mission progression (weight 0.03): The game features a storyline accompanied by a series of missions. Progression involves accumulating money for skills, progressing through missions to acquire new weapons, and completing the main storyline.
- Zombie combat without stealth (weight 0.03): The game involves fighting multiple types of zombies with different abilities. However, it lacks stealth mechanics, as gunshots and footsteps do not attract zombies under normal circumstances.

Performance notes:
- Performance issues with large hordes (weight 0.09): Several reviews mention performance issues, including frame rate drops and stuttering, especially when facing large numbers of zombies or changing the viewing angle. Some suggest the AI pathfinding contributes to the problem as enemies get stuck. This significantly impacts the gameplay experience on higher difficulty maps.
- Stable, smooth, and optimized (weight 0.06): Some players report a stable experience with smooth gameplay and no major bugs encountered, even after extended playtime. The game is also noted to be relatively small in size and easy on computer resources.
- Ineffective cooling system trigger (weight 0.02): One review notes that the game doesn't seem to trigger the computer's cooling system effectively, potentially leading to overheating issues. The reviewer uses a metaphor to describe the gradual increase in temperature.
- Missing frame rate limiter (weight 0.02): The game lacks a frame rate limiter in fullscreen mode, causing the GPU to overwork and potentially reach very high FPS. This can lead to unnecessary strain on the graphics card and increased power consumption.
- Irrelevant hardware specification (weight 0): This cluster contains a hardware specification, which is not a valid point for summarizing game review features.

Recommendations:
- Worth the low price (weight 0.73): Many reviewers mention the game's low price as a major selling point, often stating that it's worth the cost or a great value for the money. Some even suggest they would pay more, especially considering the developer's dedication and ongoing updates. Comparisons to Zero Sievert are common, with some preferring this game.
- Good entry-level extraction shooter (weight 0.67): The game is frequently recommended for fans of extraction shooters and top-down gameplay, especially those new to the genre. Its accessibility and adjustable difficulty make it a good entry point compared to more complex games like Escape from Tarkov. Some reviewers highlight it as a good option for those intimidated by 3D graphics or PvP combat.
- Strongly recommends the game (weight 0.65): Many reviewers recommend the game, citing its fun gameplay and potential. They often encourage supporting the developer due to ongoing updates and improvements. Some reviewers express that the game is highly recommended.
- Needs more polish/improvements (weight 0.62): Several reviewers mention issues that prevent them from fully recommending the game, hoping for future updates to address them. Some reviewers state that the game is not ready to be sold in its current state. One reviewer will maintain a negative review until the inventory system is updated.
- Anticipation for future updates (weight 0.24): A recurring theme is anticipation for future updates, content additions, and improvements to the game. Reviewers express excitement about the developer's plans and look forward to seeing the game evolve. Some specifically mention the v1.5 update and hope for new maps, story content, and features.
- Be cautious of frustrating elements (weight 0.17): Some reviewers caution against certain aspects of the game, such as the task system, inventory management, and potential loss of items. They advise consulting guides to avoid frustration with quest-related items. Some suggest playing with specific settings enabled to mitigate these issues.
- Suggests gameplay enhancements/additions (weight 0.08): Reviewers suggest various specific improvements to enhance gameplay, such as adding more randomness to the grinding experience, implementing a customizable drop rate system, and optimizing the save system. They also propose new content like a horde mode, weather system, and a general store to make money more useful.
- Add multiplayer functionality (weight 0.05): A frequently suggested improvement is the addition of a multiplayer mode. Reviewers believe that multiplayer functionality would significantly enhance the game's enjoyment and unlock its full potential, even if it's a peer-to-peer system.
- Mixed reception to 1.5 update (weight 0.03): Some reviewers feel that the 1.5 update is counterproductive or not recommended for new players. They suggest that new players may lose interest before reaching the farming stage. However, others believe the update provides enough content for a month or two of gameplay.
- Polarizing reception (weight 0.02): Some reviewers compare the game to Zero Sievert and other top-down shooters, while others find it to be a failed attempt at something unique. This suggests a polarized reception, with some enjoying the game's cool look but finding it lacking in substance.
- Highest difficulty is enjoyable (weight 0.02): One reviewer finds the highest difficulty level to be the most enjoyable way to play the game. They express eagerness to see what higher difficulties bring, especially in terms of rarer weapons, suggesting that difficulty scaling is a positive aspect.
- Generally positive score (weight 0.02): Some reviewers provide an overall rating for the game, typically around 8/10 or 8.5/10. This indicates a generally positive experience, but without specific details, the importance is reduced.
- Understanding of dev limitations (weight 0.02): Some reviewers express understanding of the small development team and their limitations. They hope that resources can be reasonably allocated, suggesting that the game's shortcomings may be due to resource constraints rather than a lack of effort.

Other player notes:
- Solo developer, active updates (weight 0.2): The game is primarily developed by a single person, who is dedicated to updating it. The developer's health is a concern, and they are praised for their transparency and communication with players. The game is still in development, and the developer has plans for future updates.
- Suggestions for new features (weight 0.09): Reviewers suggest expanding weapon modification and cosmetic systems, adding a vehicle system, and implementing a crafting system for extraction helicopter guiding sticks. These suggestions aim to enhance gameplay and provide more player agency.
- 2D Tarkov-like zombie shooter (weight 0.03): The game is a 2D extraction shooter with permadeath, drawing inspiration from "Escape from Tarkov" and "Zero Sievert". It focuses on a non-PVP experience with zombies.
- No cloud saves, modding restrictions (weight 0.02): The game lacks cloud saves, which can lead to data loss if the game is deleted without a backup. Additionally, the game's management restricts discussion of modding and unreleased content, which some reviewers find restrictive.
- Pixel art, top-down perspective (weight 0.02): The game utilizes a pixel art style with a top-down perspective. This allows players to have a broad view of their surroundings, aiding in spotting resources and dangers.
- Supply searching, task completion (weight 0.02): Players take on the role of a new recruit in the Night Raiders camp, tasked with searching for supplies and completing tasks. The core gameplay loop involves searching, fighting, and evacuating.
- Door ticket bug (second map) (weight 0.02): Door tickets found in the game are consistently for the second map, suggesting a possible bug. This could impact player progression and exploration.
- Add 'crafting material' tag (weight 0.02): Some items are difficult to identify as crafting materials. Reviewers suggest adding a "crafting material" tag to improve clarity.
- Weapon wall information pop-up (weight 0.02): The reviewer suggests adding a pop-up window to the weapon wall to display weapon information without needing to remove them. This would improve the user experience when managing weapons.
- F5 displays permanent item prices (weight 0.02): Pressing F5 displays item prices in the inventory, permanently showing the price after selling to a vendor. This is a specific, potentially unintended, UI behavior.
- High-value item farming guide (weight 0.02): The reviewer provides a detailed list of high-value items to look for in specific store types to maximize profit. This is a specific strategy for resource gathering.
- Unclear equipment slot purpose (weight 0.01): The purpose of the empty equipment slot in the upper right corner of the character screen is unclear to the reviewer. This suggests a lack of clarity in the game's UI.
- Used Cheat Engine (weight 0.01): The reviewer used Cheat Engine to modify the game and get 10,000,000 currency to max out all attributes. This point is not constructive and shows signs of cheating, so the importance is reduced.
- Avoid group discussions (weight 0.01): The reviewer advises against participating in group discussions due to perceived close-mindedness and suggests ignoring advice about item rarity, recommending players experience the game themselves. This point is not constructive and shows signs of review bombing, so the importance is reduced.
- Base raid joke (weight 0.01): The reviewer jokes about their base being a survivor camp and potentially being raided by other players. This point is based primarily on jokes, so the importance is reduced.
