Feature scans:
- Proton/Linux: score 5; verdict: Works Well on Linux/Proton; summary: The available Linux/Proton evidence is positive. Users report that the game works well on Linux with Proton 10, runs efficiently on a main Linux machine, and is playable on Steam Deck without jumping through hoops. The remaining negative reviews are generic controls and input-lag complaints that are not tied to Linux or Proton, so they do not indicate Linux compatibility friction.
- Steam Deck: score 35; verdict: Tinkering Required; summary: Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered generally works on Steam Deck out of the box: several reviewers confirm it launches without external launchers, runs well on Linux/Proton, and has low hardware demands with native gamepad support. The main friction is erratic and laggy controls on the Deck (wooden response, input lag, Lara acting unexpectedly), plus isolated cutscene face glitches and an inconsistency between the displayed FPS counter and the actual frame rate. The default 30 FPS cap requires a manual setting toggle to remove. No mandatory Proton Experimental switch or touchscreen launcher navigation was observed.

- Hardware Profile:
  - Summary: The Windows 12-15GB VRAM cohort reports negative performance with stuttering and freezing, while the <8GB VRAM cohort is positive despite a frame-rate reporting issue and the 8-11GB VRAM cohort is mixed due to crashes and game-breaking bugs.
  - Sample size: 30 (4% coverage)
  - Audience skew: Review sample is mostly Windows-based.
  - Windows <8GB VRAM (positive, 15 reports): A recommended report notes that the overlay counter shows 75 FPS while the on-screen frame rate appears to be 30 FPS.
  - Windows 12-15GB VRAM (negative, 8 reports): A non-recommended report describes stuttering and freezing that makes cutscenes unwatchable.
  - Windows 8-11GB VRAM (mixed, 5 reports): A recommended report describes the game as a crash fest and mentions game-breaking bugs requiring patches.
  - Caveats: 30 of 725 reviews expose hardware metadata.; Review sample is mostly Windows-based.
Feature extractions:
- Community Price:
  - Community fair range: $10.00 - $20.00
  - Reasoning: The price-specific reviews reject the current $29.99 base price as a rip-off and repeatedly advise waiting for a sale instead of paying full price. The clearest positive price anchor is around $8 on sale, with other comments treating value as conditional on a discount or on the stronger parts of the package. This places the community's fair base-game range well below $30, centered in the $10-$20 band.
- Playtime Metrics:
  - Game completion: 38.0h
  - Story completion: 38.0h
  - Session length: N/A
  - Endgame: N/A
  - Reasoning: The Turkish review directly states the player finished all three games in about 38 hours, which supports both game completion and story completion for this collection. The Italian review reports almost 140 total play hours after reaching the end credits for the last time, indicating that completion time can be much longer for some players. No review provides a typical session length or post-game/endgame hour count, so those metrics are null.
- Time-to-fun:
  - Summary: The collection's fun is gated behind a rough onboarding: unclear controls and frustrating tutorials create early friction, though some players say it may become alright after getting past the tutorial and using modern quality-of-life features.
  - Stance: Clicks after
  - Anchor: Getting past the tutorial
  - Time to anchor: N/A
  - Friction: No clear control prompts; Unclear objectives and navigation; Frustrating tutorial; Long tutorial section; Need for external guides
  - Unlock drivers: Modern controls; Action indicators; Photo mode for scoping maps; Toggling modern and retro graphics

- Achievements Included (weight 0.06): The game includes achievements, adding an extra layer of goals for players to pursue. This feature is standard in modern releases and enhances replay value.

Performance notes:
- Stable performance on modern PC (weight 0.07): Many users report the game runs perfectly on modern PCs with stable performance. No crashes or loading time issues are common.

- Poor performance on modern hardware (weight 0.04): Even high-end GPUs like the RTX 4090 cannot maintain a stable 60 FPS. Some players find the game unplayable on modern machines.
- Cutscene stuttering and pauses (weight 0.04): Many cutscenes suffer from stutter and freezing, making them unwatchable. Characters' lips continue moving after dialogue ends, and the game briefly stutters.
- TR6 technical issues (weight 0.04): TR6 had technical issues on release and barely worked for many. Controls are unresponsive with input lag, requiring multiple key presses.
- Runs well on Steam Deck (weight 0.04): The game runs great on Steam Deck due to low hardware demands. However, some controls are crazy and make the game barely playable.
- Sound bugs and missing audio (weight 0.04): There are no sound effects in the game, even after changing headphones and audio jack. Sound bugs cause looping audio when performing quick turns or moving objects.
- Stuttering in windowed mode (weight 0.04): The game stutters in windowed mode. Some believe the framedrops are caused by a bug rather than hardware performance.
- Computer freeze bug (weight 0.03): A bug causes the computer to freeze and become unresponsive, requiring a hard reset. This is a severe issue that can lead to data loss.
- Graphical and softlock bugs (weight 0.02): There are bugs such as graphical lighting issues and softlocks. These can hinder progression and require restarting.
- Runs poorly compared to PS1 (weight 0.02): The game runs poorly on PC compared to the PlayStation 1 version. This suggests optimization issues on PC.

- TR6 limited to 60fps (weight 0.02): TR6 Angel of Darkness is limited to 60fps due to an engine limitation. This restricts the performance on high-refresh-rate monitors.
- FPS unlock improves experience (weight 0.02): Unlocking the FPS improves the performance experience. This allows for smoother gameplay on capable hardware.
- High resource usage in versions 4 and 5 (weight 0.02): Versions 4 and 5 consume many resources, which can lead to performance issues on lower-end systems. This is a concern for some players.

Emotions:
- Frustration (weight 0.21): Frustration overwhelmingly stems from poorly implemented controls, janky movement, and camera issues that make basic navigation painful, especially in Tomb Raider IV and VI. These problems are compounded by softlocks, game-breaking bugs, unresponsive inputs, and obtuse level design requiring excessive backtracking and guide usage. Performance issues, unclear objectives, and a lack of quality-of-life features like level restart or autosave further exacerbate the frustration.
- Disappointment (weight 0.2): Disappointment centers on the remaster of Tomb Raider IV-VI, particularly Angel of Darkness, being unfinished, buggy, and failing to address long-standing issues like controls or graphics. The lack of meaningful improvements, minimal visual upgrades, and unresolved problems from the originals make the collection feel like a missed opportunity. Many expected a more polished, modernized experience but instead found the same flawed games with few fixes.
- Satisfaction (weight 0.08): Satisfaction arises from the remaster finally making the classic games playable and enjoyable, with modern controls, improved visuals, and fixed bugs. Players appreciate the ability to switch between graphics, the inclusion of quality-of-life features, and the successful restoration of TR4 and TR5. Overcoming difficult puzzles and completing the games, especially after failing as a child, brings a strong sense of accomplishment and reward.
- Enjoyment (weight 0.06): Enjoyment comes from playing the classic Tomb Raider games, especially TR4 and TR5, with their engaging puzzles, atmospheric levels, and nostalgic appeal. The remaster's improved graphics, modern controls, and additional features like photo mode enhance the experience. Even Angel of Darkness, despite its flaws, offers fun moments through its story, horror elements, and classic platforming.
- Nostalgia (weight 0.05): Nostalgia is a powerful emotion, evoked by revisiting the classic Tomb Raider games from childhood in remastered form. Playing as Lara Croft again and experiencing the familiar puzzles, sounds, and scenes brings back fond memories of growing up with the series. The remaster's option to switch to old graphics further strengthens this nostalgic connection.
- Appreciation (weight 0.05): Appreciation is felt for the care and effort put into remastering the classic games, particularly the visual upgrades, restored content, and quality-of-life improvements like quick save. Fans are grateful that these ambitious titles are now accessible on modern platforms and that the remaster respects the originals while enhancing them. The passion of the developers in bringing back the classic Lara Croft is highly valued.
- Love (weight 0.04): Love for the Tomb Raider series, its characters, and especially Lara Croft, remains strong despite flaws. Players deeply enjoy the classic games, particularly Tomb Raider 4, and appreciate the remaster's loving treatment, including restored content and improved controls. The emotional connection to the franchise and its protagonist endures across generations.
- Excitement (weight 0.03): Excitement is driven by the remaster's modern features like native widescreen, high resolution, and improved controls, which bring a new experience to classic games. The inclusion of Angel of Darkness with restored content, modern controls, and cut content adds to the thrill. Anticipation for future remasters and the ability to explore beloved levels with enhanced visuals creates a sense of adventure.
- Admiration (weight 0.02): Admiration is expressed for the remaster's visual upgrades, attention to detail, and the successful preservation of the original atmosphere. The treatment of levels, lighting, and environments in TR4 and TR5 is highly praised, as is the passion and effort of the developers. The remastered Lara model and the overall quality of the restoration are particularly admired.
- Joy (weight 0.02): Joy is felt from seeing Angel of Darkness remastered and playable on modern consoles, experiencing the classic games without stuttering, and replaying them with the same emotions as before. The announcement and release of the remaster, made with love, brings happiness. Sharing the experience with family and recalling old times adds to the joy.
- Happiness (weight 0.02): Happiness comes from the successful preservation of Lara's classic adventures, the satisfaction of completing Angel of Darkness, and the improved optimization of the remaster. Rediscovering the second trilogy in remastered form and seeing fixes for long-standing issues like the Boaz boss fight bring delight. The game still brings joy despite its flaws.
- Anger (weight 0.01): Anger is fueled by the poor quality of the remaster, including bugs, unresponsive controls, and game-breaking issues that ruin progress. The inclusion of AI voiceovers without consent, missing sound, and the feeling of being sold an untested product for money are major sources of anger. Lost progress and achievements not unlocking further infuriate players.
- Annoyance (weight 0.01): Annoyance stems from persistent technical issues, camera problems, and the lack of autosave leading to lost progress. The tutorial's constant interruptions and failure to explain mechanics are irritating, as are fixed camera angles and leftover loading screens. Cringeworthy photos and controls also contribute to annoyance.
- Dislike (weight 0.01): Dislike is directed at The Last Revelation's tedious backtracking, Tomb Raider V's poor quality, and the dreadful control system of Angel of Darkness. Plot inconsistencies and bad modern controls make the games unenjoyable. Some players also care little for the reboot series.
- Pleasure (weight 0.01): Pleasure is derived from revisiting the classic titles with modern presentation, including updated graphics and full localization. Rediscovering Lara in The Last Revelation and Chronicles with improved models and faithful levels is a delight. Replaying the remastered games brings enjoyment through new movements and gameplay details.
- Disgust (weight 0.01): Disgust is provoked by Tomb Raider V's cobbled-together levels and save bug, the unstable framerate causing motion sickness, and the awful controls making the game unplayable. The unbearable character Kurtis and the clunky nature of Angel of Darkness also elicit disgust. The 2013 relaunch is similarly disliked.
- Enthusiasm (weight 0.01): Enthusiasm is high for the remastered collection of Tomb Raider 4-6, seen as a perfect tribute with amazing visual improvements and bug fixes. The remasters are considered worth every cent, and replaying the games on PC after consoles is exciting. The legacy of Tomb Raider and Lara Croft is celebrated.
- Dissatisfaction (weight 0.01): Dissatisfaction arises from Lara's modern control mode feeling like driving a car, the unfinished Angel of Darkness portion, and bad gameplay and movement controls. The flare shortcut option is also suboptimal, leaving players unsatisfied with these aspects of the remaster.
- Gratitude (weight 0.01): Gratitude is expressed to the publishers, developers, and everyone who made the remaster possible. Fans are thankful for the restored content, Russian voice, and the effort of Aspyr and Saber in bringing the classic games back. Seeing the real Lara again is deeply appreciated.
- Boredom (weight 0.01): Boredom results from repetitive gameplay tasks like swimming, pulling levers, and pushing boxes, as well as the sixth game's missions and mechanics. Boring storytelling and Angel of Darkness lacking the charm of older games also contribute to a sense of tedium.}
