Info about TDS - Tower Defense Strategy:

Official game description:
Defend your Basin, it must stand.
**TDS Tower Defense Strategy** is a Tower Defense, Real-Time Strategy Hybrid at its core. Build up, grab your friends, and defend against the Tides that approach.
Maps have no path, no limits, and most importantly... Enemies will fight back.
**Control a Vessel, they are your anchor to the world.**
Vessels in themselves are both a unit and a tower. Control them to mine, fight, and build your defense. Each of which comes with their own set of extremely unique towers to help in this endeavor.
**Towers, units. Simple yet deep.**
Expand your defense through an extremely rich set of upgrades that all play off one another. Synergistic in nature, there are many combinations and strategies you can employ to increase your effective hold. Towers can expand on one another, Vessels can too.
**Handcrafted, fully realized unique maps.**
On your adventure you will encounter MANY diverse maps, from floating woodcraft in the sky to massive derelict structures. Not only in their visual design but down to the very gameplay of them. No two maps are the same. And each one will challenge you systematically.
**Outsmart, overpower.**
Placement is key; you can make it through by sheer power, but you can also do so through your wit. There are many points in which your actions have a bearing more than simply upgrading to the next best thing. Create an ultra powerful single tower, create an impenetrable wall. You can even beat whole areas utilizing no towers\* (Please fact check me on this)
**TDS is better with friends!**
Play with up to 3 of your fellow Vessels and defend together! There are infinitely more combinations and strategies when you play with friends (including goofy cheese ones)

Feature scans:
- Wiki: score 50; verdict: Moderate External Dependency; summary: The user reviews consistently highlight the game's lack of explanations and guides, forcing players to rely on external wikis and community resources. The unfriendly design and poor translation exacerbate this dependency.
- Steam Deck: score 70; verdict: Broken - Requires fixes for UI and stability; summary: The game suffers from critical UI scaling issues on Steam Deck and stability problems including crashes and poor translation. While the core gameplay is appreciated, technical barriers prevent a smooth experience.

- Hardware Profile: No data
Feature extractions:
- Community Price:
  - Community fair range: $12.00 - $16.00
  - Reasoning: Multiple reviews affirm the current $17.99 price is worth it, calling it 'worth the price' and 'great value purchase'. However, one review explicitly states 'a bit pricey' and recommends waiting for a sale, indicating a slight premium. Combined, the community perceives the fair base-game price as slightly below the current price yet still within a range that reflects its early-access depth and replayability. The price range $12–$16 aligns with these mixed but generally positive valuations.
- Playtime Metrics:
  - Game completion: 25.0h
  - Story completion: N/A
  - Session length: 0.8h
  - Endgame: N/A
  - Reasoning: Game completion reported as 25 hours to beat the game. Session length varies from 30-45 minutes to 1 hour for a typical level. The 130-hour figure represents full completion including all difficulties, but it is not specifically endgame content; thus endgame is set to null. No clear story completion metric found.

The anticipation for future content, such as new maps, characters, and updates, is a major source of excitement, fueled by the solid foundation of challenging gameplay and satisfying multiplayer co-op experiences.
- Enjoyment (weight 0.13): The core gameplay loop is widely praised as fun and engaging, especially when played cooperatively with friends, with the unique vessel playstyles and map variety offering high replayability. While many players acknowledge some frustrations, they ultimately find the game enjoyable due to its strategic depth, music, visuals, and the overall satisfying tower defense experience.
- Satisfaction (weight 0.09): Players derive satisfaction from the game's rewarding progression system, which encourages multiple attempts and makes eventual success feel earned. Mastering the steep learning curve and discovering the depth of the unique characters and mechanics provides a strong sense of accomplishment, validating the initial effort invested.
- Disappointment (weight 0.08): A common source of disappointment is the poor initial experience, plagued by unintuitive UI, bugs, and confusing translations that make the game feel unpolished and immediately uninviting. Long-term disappointment stems from balance issues, like sudden and unfair difficulty spikes, and a perceived lack of information and explanation for core mechanics such as tower upgrades.
- Confusion (weight 0.05): The primary cause of confusion is the game's opaque UI and lack of a tutorial or clear explanations, making it difficult for new players to understand basic mechanics and navigation. This is worsened by abstract, poorly-translated item and upgrade descriptions, which leave players unsure of how things function.
- Appreciation (weight 0.05): Reviewers appreciate the game's unique artistic vision, from its distinct visual style and soundtrack to the intricate resource gathering and tower upgrade systems. They view it as a hidden gem that stands out for its creativity, strategic difficulty, and careful design of unlockable content.
- Annoyance (weight 0.03): Annoyance is frequently caused by the UI and UX, which prioritizes artistry over functionality, resulting in unreadable text and unlabeled buttons. The inability to skip repeated animations and the counter-intuitive behavior of the escape key also contribute to this irritation.
- Admiration (weight 0.03): Players admire the game for its deep strategic gameplay, considering it one of the strongest entries in the tower defense genre. The developers' effort and communication are also respected, and the game's unique charm, beautiful ambiance, and detailed maps are highly praised.

The classic tower defense gameplay, combined with significant depth and well-designed maps and mechanics, also fosters this strong positive feeling.

- Anger (weight 0.01): Anger is a direct result of specific, highly frustrating gameplay and design elements, such as unskippable cutscenes and a lack of a quick restart feature. The primary catalyst is an unfair difficulty spike involving an enemy with a massive health pool and an instant-kill ability.
- Interest (weight 0.01): Interest is piqued by the game's unique and novel design concepts, which are described as 'really interesting.' This suggests the core premise and mechanics are compelling enough to draw players in despite potential flaws.
- Irritation (weight 0.01): Irritation stems from specific, tedious micro-management tasks, such as individually re-aiming certain defensive units. A broader source of irritation is the feeling that the game's interesting core concept is being held back by these frustrating design choices, representing wasted potential.}
