_Hey! My name is Lente. I started working on Spilled! At the end of 2022. It is my first commercial release._
_I paused school and bought my own small boat to live on. Which lowered my cost of living and allowed me to fully focus on Spilled! for a while._
_Once my savings ran out, I ran a succesful Kickstarter which has kept me afloat all the way up until release! I am so happy I have been able to follow my dreams. I hope you like Spilled!_

The visual transformation of the water and the return of wildlife provide a sense of accomplishment and contribute to the game's positive message about environmental conservation. The game's focus on environmental themes resonates with players.
- Simple controls and boat upgrades (weight 0.14): The game features simple and intuitive controls, making it accessible to a wide range of players. The boat controls are responsive and easy to learn, and the game offers satisfying progression through boat upgrades. These upgrades enhance the gameplay experience and provide a gentle sense of accomplishment.
- Cute and collectible animals (weight 0.04): The game includes collectible animals, which reviewers find cute and appealing. The animals have names, adding a personal touch and enhancing the overall charm of the game. Collecting these animals is a satisfying goal for completionists.
- Easy and satisfying achievements (weight 0.04): The game features straightforward and easily obtainable achievements, catering to completionist players. Achievements are earned organically through gameplay and are not missable, allowing players to fully explore the game without pressure. The game also includes collectibles, adding to the sense of progression and reward.
- Similar to Powerwash Simulator (weight 0.03): The game is compared favorably to other relaxing simulation games like Powerwash Simulator and A Short Hike. Reviewers note that it provides a similar sense of satisfaction from cleaning and restoring the environment. The game combines elements of exploration, earning money, and cleaning to create a cozy and engaging experience.
- Core game is perfect (weight 0.02): This cluster contains general praise without specific details. While positive, it lacks the constructiveness and specificity needed for a high importance score.
- Unique gameplay elements (weight 0.02): This point is difficult to assess due to the inclusion of a potentially inappropriate element ('kill a man'). While the reviewer may have intended it humorously, it detracts from the constructiveness and specificity of the feedback. Therefore, the importance score is significantly reduced.

Common complaints:
- Controls are clunky/unintuitive (weight 0.22): Several reviewers noted issues with the game's controls, describing them as clunky, finicky, or unintuitive. Specific complaints included difficulty maneuvering the boat, especially when collecting bottles, and awkwardness when spraying water or using tools. Some reviewers also mentioned the physics of pushable items needing improvement.
- Upgrades feel underwhelming/limited (weight 0.07): Players found boat upgrades underwhelming and not impactful enough. Some were confused about the upgrade system, unsure if there was a maximum level or why they couldn't afford all upgrades. The limited number of upgrade options also contributed to a lack of depth.
- Disappointing boss fight/ending (weight 0.06): The final boss fight and ending were criticized for feeling out of place, abrupt, and lacking buildup. Some reviewers found the boss fight itself to be a simple chore that didn't fit the game's theme. The concept of sinking a polluting ship was also questioned.
- Minor bugs and glitches (weight 0.06): Several reviewers reported encountering minor bugs, glitches, performance hiccups, and achievement issues. These included problems with unlocking achievements, disappearing bottles, stuttering, and frame rate dips. While not game-breaking, these issues detracted from the overall experience.
- Levels lack realism/diversity (weight 0.01): Reviewers felt level biomes lacked realism and diversity. The game would benefit from more varied and realistic environments.
- Rubber duckies obstruct view (weight 0.01): Rubber duckies obstruct view and make it difficult to see the oil spills, and the game doesn't indicate when all the oil is cleaned.

Gameplay feedback:
- Progressive gameplay with varied tasks (weight 0.04): The game introduces new areas, mechanics, and side quests as players progress, expanding the scope of tasks and providing variety. There are eight different areas to explore. The game also features a boss fight.
- Side objectives expand gameplay (weight 0.03): The game features side objectives, such as putting out fires with a water jet, which provide additional coins and expand gameplay beyond basic cleanup. The water jet is also used to dislodge oil from surfaces.
- Coral collection is frustrating (weight 0.01): Collecting coral can be frustrating due to the game's collision detection issues, causing them to become stuck and difficult to collect.
- Boat controls take practice (weight 0.01): The boat controls take some getting used to.

Performance notes:

- Inconsistent performance on some systems (weight 0.02): Some players have experienced performance issues such as lag spikes or performance hiccups, particularly on lower-end laptops where the artwork and animations may cause problems. This suggests that the game's performance is not consistent across all hardware configurations.
- Simple, functional sound/music (weight 0.01): The sound and music are described as simple and functional, suggesting they serve their purpose without being particularly noteworthy or detracting from the experience. This indicates an area where the game could potentially be improved with more engaging audio elements.

The positive reception is reflected in high ratings and enthusiastic recommendations.
- Desire for more content/sequel (weight 0.46): Many reviewers expressed a desire for more content, such as additional levels, maps, or an expanded sequel. They feel the core gameplay is strong and has the potential to be further developed, offering a more substantial and lasting experience. This suggests that while the game is currently enjoyable, its longevity could be improved with updates or a follow-up.
- Short length impacts value (weight 0.44): Some reviewers feel the game's short length doesn't justify its price, suggesting it's better to buy on sale. They recommend waiting for a discount to feel the cost aligns with the playtime offered. This indicates a concern about the value proposition for those prioritizing longer gameplay experiences.
- Support the developer/project (weight 0.44): Reviewers often encourage supporting the developer, especially highlighting that it is a solo project.
