Below are summaries of things people say about the game per category.
Each point is assigned a weight that represents how often it is mentioned across all reviews.
What players like:
- Maps are visually impressive (weight 0.52): Players consistently praise the map design, calling it beautiful, spectacular, and among the best visually. The terrain and scenery are highlighted as scenic and pleasant for casual play.
- Kenworth 963 is exceptional (weight 0.48): The Kenworth 963 is described as a powerful, unstoppable beast with large wheels and excellent addon variety. It is considered a must-have and one of the best trucks in the game.
- New trucks are capable (weight 0.38): Both new trucks are seen as very capable, useful, and having potential. They are considered among the best trucks in the game.
- Map difficulty is well balanced (weight 0.26): The map offers a good challenge without being overwhelming, with easy routes and tasks. Difficulty is described as just right, not too easy or punitive.
- DLC is highly praised (weight 0.19): The DLC is called a masterpiece, fun, complete, and the best purchase so far. Players find it solid and interesting overall.
- Missions are engaging (weight 0.15): Missions are interesting, varied, and not dragged out. Players appreciate the mission design and pacing.
- Mack Defense performs well (weight 0.15): The Mack Defense truck shows power despite its class, with good overall performance and capability for any job. It is praised as a great truck.
- Fuel availability is abundant (weight 0.11): Fuel is readily available across the map, with stations and carriers in abundance. This reduces logistical stress for players.
- Vehicles are versatile (weight 0.11): The vehicles are described as great, useful, and having wide applicability. They look cool and perform well in various situations.

Common complaints:
- Kenworth 963 underpowered on climbs (weight 0.97): Multiple reviews report the Kenworth 963 struggles on steep inclines and gets stuck easily, even when unladen. The engine is considered weak, with the best unlocked engine rated only A in-game.
- Mission bugs and design flaws (weight 0.63): Several missions have bugs like disappearing maintenance centers, stuck trailers, and storage areas not working. Mission design is criticized for being repetitive, with too few tasks and poor pacing.
- Terrain obstacles excessive (weight 0.58): The terrain is filled with rocks, roots, and mud that hinder progress, causing trucks to get stuck. Main roads are often unusable due to invisible roots, and mud is excessive in key areas.
- Mack truck mediocre off-road (weight 0.43): The Mack truck is criticized for small wheels, low suspension, and poor off-road capability, getting stuck on rocks or roots. It is considered average and not special, with high idle fuel consumption.
- Crane and trailer issues (weight 0.26): The new crane cannot lift trucks, and no truck can pull it effectively. Trailers often get stuck in rocks or clip with terrain, making missions frustrating.
- Ferry mechanic broken and pointless (weight 0.25): The ferry is reported to crash the game, be static, or act as a simple teleport. It is considered pointless as an alternate water route exists, and it adds little to gameplay.
- Lack of new mechanics (weight 0.17): The DLC lacks new gameplay mechanics like farming or water, and reuses assets from previous maps. The ferry and high-altitude unloading are not new, just variations of existing features.
- Map size and content quantity (weight 0.16): The map feels smaller than previous ones, with fewer tasks and contracts. There is a lack of variety in routes and missions, making the experience feel short and plain.
- Lack of innovation and polish (weight 0.16): The DLC feels unpolished with missing construction animations and reused assets. It lacks new mechanics and has low-level mission bugs, making it feel like a minor update.
- Performance and physics glitches (weight 0.14): The game has physics glitches like trailers dancing and flying, and trucks getting stuck on invisible obstacles. These issues break immersion and cause frustration.
- UI and text issues (weight 0.12): There are inconsistencies in font colors for cargo and missions, and some map icons are incorrect. The cargo list text is incorrectly highlighted, and a storage icon is mislabeled as a water tower.
- Vehicle variety and customization lacking (weight 0.11): There are few vehicle options, and the new trucks have limited tire choices, with no chains for the Kenworth. The Mack is similar to existing mods, differing only in tires.
- Tire size and mud performance (weight 0.11): Tires under 50 inches struggle in mud, and small tires on the Mack and M917 affect performance. Crossing icy rivers requires larger tires, limiting vehicle usability.
- Multiplayer and technical issues (weight 0.11): Multiplayer still has issues, and the game crashes on the ferry. These technical problems hinder the experience, especially in cooperative play.
- Rescue and recovery issues (weight 0.08): The rescue mechanism is problematic when there are no trees nearby, and small trucks get stuck in mud requiring rescue or return to garage. This can be time-consuming and frustrating.
- Story and mission spoilers (weight 0.04): Investigation tasks are available from the start, spoiling the story if done before contracts. This design flaw reduces narrative impact.

Gameplay feedback:
- Map variety and terrain (weight 0.93): The game features multiple maps with diverse terrain types, including mud, swamps, icy rivers, mountains, and forests. The maps are described as spacious, with varying difficulty levels from easy to medium-hard.
- New trucks and brands (weight 0.75): The game introduces two new truck brands, Kenworth and Mack, with the Kenworth 963 and M917A3 as heavy off-road vehicles. These trucks feature various upgrades, including engines, gearboxes, and roof carriers.
- Off-road challenges (weight 0.35): The game emphasizes off-road trucking with mud, swamps, and steep hills, providing a challenging but manageable experience. The difficulty is characterized by these terrain elements, with some maps being easier than others.
- Missions and contracts (weight 0.3): The game includes tasks and contracts related to construction, such as fixing bridges, removing rubble, and delivering drilling rigs. Missions often require driving around to unlock faster routes to blocked roads.
- Vehicle customization options (weight 0.28): Players can customize trucks with different wheel sizes, torque characteristics, power-to-weight ratios, and various upgrades like cranes, beds, and trailers. The game also includes fuel tanks, roof supplies, and active suspension for some vehicles.
- Ferry transport mechanic (weight 0.24): The game includes a ferry system that transports cargo for a fee after unlocking, providing a fast travel option. This mechanic is highlighted as a cool concept for navigating the map.
- DLC content and features (weight 0.21): The DLC adds more vehicles, missions, and difficulty, including cross-map long-distance transport missions and a large goose-neck semi-trailer carrying a fishing boat. It can be played after the base game and features forests and muddy roads.
- Map exploration and watchtowers (weight 0.17): The maps feature watchtowers and lookout towers that players can discover to reveal the map. These towers are numerous and scattered, with enough range to cover the entire map, aiding in exploration.
- Difficulty progression (weight 0.17): The game is tough at the beginning but becomes easier as players open up the map and unlock routes. The overall difficulty is medium to hard, with some maps being easier than others.
- Garage and loading mechanics (weight 0.16): The game features garage repair and loading mechanics, with loading points at garage entrances. There is also a garage building task in the DLC, and the region has two garages.
- Map size and layout (weight 0.12): Duncan Bay is the standard map size, and the map is vertical, divided by a large river. The first map has a sheer amount of work and loads of elevation changes.
- Rescue and recovery mechanics (weight 0.11): The game includes a rescue mechanism that requires trees or a garage, and players can get stuck in snow, requiring friends to rescue them. This adds a cooperative element to the gameplay.
- Road conditions (weight 0.11): The roads are winding but not too hard to traverse, with a moderate amount of paved roads. However, there are not enough paved roads to justify highway trucks, and some paths have a lot of stones.
- No crafting or split system (weight 0.11): The game has no crafting mechanic and no split system or cargo quantity limit, which may be a positive or negative depending on player preference. This simplifies the gameplay in some aspects.
- Fuel and repair stations (weight 0.11): The game includes fuel stations and fuel carriers, as well as repair stations, to support long-distance travel. The first map has a gas station and repair station, and the region has fuel stations.
- Scenic and technical elements (weight 0.11): The region features cliff faces with views and is described as quite beautiful. It also includes technical and difficult elements such as sawmills and a roadless forest, adding to the visual and gameplay variety.
- Truck performance details (weight 0.07): The Kenworth 963 has a 69-inch mud tire, all-wheel drive, differential lock, 612h engine, high chassis, snorkel, 650 liters of fuel, 300 repair points, and a spare tire. The M917 has all-wheel drive, a switchable differential lock, and can install mud tires.
- Cargo and storage (weight 0.07): The game includes cargo beds with different capacities, and the first map has multiple storage points for cargo with unlimited capacity. This allows for flexible hauling.
- High-altitude unloading (weight 0.07): The game features high-altitude unloading with a crane, adding a unique challenge to certain missions. This is part of the crane, bed, and trailer mounting system.
- Mod support (weight 0.04): The game can be played with mods, allowing players to customize their experience further. This is a notable feature for the community.

Performance notes:
- Ferry crashes the game (weight 0.06): Players report that using the Ferry causes the game to crash, which is a critical stability issue. This bug disrupts gameplay and may require a hotfix.
- Poor optimization on maps (weight 0.05): The game's performance is subpar, with frame rates consistently lower than on other maps. This suggests optimization issues that affect the overall experience.

- DLC offers good value (weight 0.11): The DLC is described as a 2-for-1 deal, providing substantial content for the price. It is still worth getting for extra content even if not essential.
- New truck is a highlight (weight 0.09): The new truck alone makes the DLC worth buying, with specific recommendations for the Kenworth 963 and M917A3. Players are advised to add these vehicles to their garage.
- Good for casual players (weight 0.09): Reviewers note the DLC suits players seeking a chill or relaxed experience in SnowRunner. It is recommended for those who enjoy a more laid-back gameplay style.
- Maps recommended for purchase (weight 0.08): Reviewers specifically recommend the maps included in the DLC, suggesting they are a key reason to buy. The maps add new areas to explore and enjoy.
- Consider Year 3 Pass instead (weight 0.08): Some reviewers suggest that if you don't have the Year 3 Pass, it might be better to buy that instead of this DLC alone. The pass offers more content for the price.
- Not for hardcore players (weight 0.05): The DLC is not recommended for hardcore players or those seeking route variety, as it may not offer enough challenge or new paths. It is more suited to casual or relaxed play.
- Use guides for trucks (weight 0.04): Reviewers recommend looking up YouTube guides to find the new trucks, as they may be hidden or hard to locate. This helps players get the most out of the DLC.
- Plan hauling infrastructure (weight 0.04): Players should plan carefully where to haul heavy trailers and set up infrastructure before starting cargo jobs. This preparation is key to success in the DLC.
- Avoid certain tasks early (weight 0.04): It is recommended not to complete the tasks 'Scrap for Scrap' and 'Confiscated Truck' before the investigation contracts. Doing so may cause issues or miss content.
- Recommended for franchise fans (weight 0.04): The DLC is recommended for fans of the SnowRunner series, as it adds content that fits well with the existing game. It is a good addition for dedicated players.
- Season highly recommended (weight 0.04): One reviewer highly recommends this season, indicating it is a strong addition to the game. The content is well-received and adds value.

Other player notes:
- Maps are easier than previous regions (weight 0.21): The region is considered easy, with fuel readily available and no crafting zones or concrete bricks. It is less painful than Amur or Ontario, and watchtower tasks are not as tedious.
- DLC includes two maps and trucks (weight 0.19): The DLC provides two maps and two new truck brands, the Mack Defense M917 and Kenworth 963. This content is highlighted as a key selling point.
- Map design compared to previous DLCs (weight 0.15): The first map is more vertical than Ontario, and the overall region feels smaller than Ontario. It is considered better than previous maps, though one reviewer notes it feels like a mod map.
- Maps have garages and facilities (weight 0.12): Both maps include a garage, with the second map's garage having a gas station and repair station nearby. Additional parking and truck store require contracts, and the garage can be unlocked by exploring.
- Developer criticized for bugs (weight 0.09): The developer is criticized for releasing the game without proper testing, and seasons have become sloppy with bugs. This reflects a broader concern about quality control.
- Kenworth 963 found on first map (weight 0.08): The Kenworth 963 truck is located on the first map, while the Mack Defense is obtained on the second map. This distribution encourages exploration of both areas.

- No crafting zones or concrete bricks (weight 0.08): The DLC does not use concrete bricks or crafting zones, simplifying resource management. This is a positive for players who find such mechanics tedious.
- Base game trucks sufficient (weight 0.05): The DLC can be completed using only base game trucks without mods. This makes it accessible to players who prefer not to use modifications.
- DLC purchased for vehicles (weight 0.05): The DLC is mainly bought for its new vehicles rather than map or level design. This suggests that vehicle content is the primary draw for players.
- Map has ferry on first map only (weight 0.05): The first map includes a ferry, but the second map does not. This difference affects traversal and may influence player experience.
- DLC set in British Columbia (weight 0.04): The DLC is set in British Columbia, providing a new environment. This setting is part of the region's identity and appeal.
- No in-game item scams (weight 0.04): The game does not scam players with purchasable in-game items, which is appreciated. This contrasts with other games that may have aggressive monetization.
- Reviewer suggests merging games (weight 0.04): One reviewer suggests merging SnowRunner and Expeditions to save hard drive space for players owning both. This is a personal wish rather than a direct critique of the DLC.
- Reviewer prefers one big map (weight 0.04): One reviewer prefers a single large map over four smaller ones, which may reflect a design preference. This is a subjective opinion rather than a universal critique.
- Soundtrack reminiscent of Yukon (weight 0.04): The soundtrack sometimes reminds players of Yukon, adding a familiar audio atmosphere. This is a minor detail that may enhance immersion.
- Reviewer used mods for playthrough (weight 0.04): One reviewer used the Tayga 8x8 Swamp Rat mod for almost the entire playthrough, indicating reliance on mods. This may affect the perceived difficulty and experience.

Emotions:
- Satisfaction (weight 0.25): Players are satisfied with the well-designed, moderately difficult maps and the excellent new trucks, especially the Kenworth 963 and Mack Defense. The DLC offers a balanced, rewarding experience with beautiful scenery, varied missions, and a sense of accomplishment.
- Frustration (weight 0.19): Frustration stems from the Kenworth 963's weak engine and poor hill-climbing ability, causing it to struggle with heavy loads and steep slopes. Additionally, players encounter mission bugs, getting stuck on terrain roots, and excessive mud on main roads, leading to tedious backtracking and artificial difficulty.
- Disappointment (weight 0.16): Disappointment arises from the Kenworth 963's underpowered performance and poor off-road capability, which fails to meet expectations despite its imposing appearance. Players also criticize the lack of mission variety, the non-functional ferry that acts as a simple teleport, and the overall mediocre vehicle performance.
- Admiration (weight 0.09): Players admire the stunning, detailed maps and the exceptional new trucks, particularly the Kenworth 963 and Mack Defense, which are considered among the best in the game. The beautiful landscapes, impressive sound design, and well-crafted world-building contribute to a highly positive reception.

The moderate challenges and memorable locations provide a pleasant experience, with the ship transport mission being a particular highlight.
- Love (weight 0.03): Players love the DLC for its amazing views, vertical map design, and varied terrain, which offer treacherous roads and joyous mud. The absence of in-game purchases and the high quality of the trucks make it a worthwhile purchase.
- Annoyance (weight 0.02): Annoyance is caused by the excessive number of watchtowers on the first map, the bumpy roads on the second map, and the early availability of investigation tasks that spoil the story. Additionally, the abundance of stone on paths hampers driving.

- Anger (weight 0.02): Anger is triggered by the Kenworth's poor performance, which tarnishes the brand's reputation, and by mission bugs like trailers getting stuck in rocks. Game crashes when using the ferry also contribute to frustration.

- Confidence (weight 0.01): Confidence is inspired by the two new trucks being very capable, giving players assurance in their performance.

- Amusement (weight 0.01): Amusement comes from the game's slow pace, giving time to read a book, and the humorous situation where friends take about 45 minutes to rescue you.}
