Common complaints:

Many reviewers felt the game was boring, lacked depth, and failed to deliver a compelling experience, especially considering its price and file size.
- Repetitive and uninspired combat (weight 0.8): The game suffers from poor enemy design and AI, leading to repetitive and uninspired combat encounters. Zombies are either too weak or too strong, spawn in illogical locations, and exhibit unrealistic behavior. This diminishes the tension and excitement of the zombie survival experience.
- Numerous bugs and technical issues (weight 0.77): The game is plagued by numerous bugs, glitches, and technical issues, including crashes, freezes, corrupted save files, and graphical problems. These issues significantly disrupt the gameplay experience and can lead to lost progress and frustration.
- Awkward and unintuitive controls (weight 0.75): The game's control scheme is awkward, unintuitive, and lacks customization options. Many reviewers found the controls difficult to use, especially with a keyboard and mouse, and the absence of controller support further limits player options.
- Poor genre blending and focus (weight 0.71): The game attempts to blend multiple genres, such as tower defense, survival, and RPG, but fails to execute any of them well. This results in a lack of focus and depth, leaving players feeling like they are engaging with shallow and unfulfilling mechanics.
- Tedious backtracking and travel (weight 0.68): The game features excessive backtracking and tedious travel across a large, uninteresting map. Missions often involve running from point A to point B with little reward, artificially prolonging the game's length and leading to player fatigue.
- Poor farming and food systems (weight 0.67): The game's farming and food systems are poorly implemented and lack depth. Farming is tedious and unrewarding, while the hunger mechanic feels pointless and the available food options are unappetizing.
- Limited and repetitive NPC interactions (weight 0.64): NPC interactions are limited, repetitive, and often immersion-breaking. Dialogue is awkward and uninteresting, and NPCs exhibit unrealistic behavior and lack meaningful interactions with the player.
- Underdeveloped survival mode (weight 0.63): The game's survival mode is underdeveloped and lacks essential features, making it feel like a stripped-down version of the story mode. Many reviewers found the survival mode to be uninspired and lacking in replayability.

- Poor crafting and weapon systems (weight 0.32): The game's crafting and weapon systems are underdeveloped and unbalanced. Weapons break too quickly, are difficult or impossible to repair, and crafted items are often weak and ineffective. This leads to frustration and limits player options, making resource gathering and crafting feel pointless.
- Clunky UI and inventory management (weight 0.22): The game's user interface (UI) and inventory management systems are poorly designed, clunky, and lack essential features. Reviewers frequently mention the need for improvements to the UI's aesthetics, responsiveness, and ease of use, as well as the inventory system's organization, sorting, and item management capabilities.

Gameplay feedback:
- Combines tower defense with survival (weight 0.19): The game incorporates tower defense elements where players build and manage bases to defend against zombie waves. This aspect is integrated with other gameplay features like exploration, resource gathering, and story progression. However, some reviewers find the tower defense mechanics to be unbalanced or underdeveloped.
- Open-world zombie survival with looting (weight 0.13): The game blends open-world exploration, looting, base defense, and zombie survival, drawing comparisons to games like Project Zomboid and 7 Days to Die. Players scavenge for resources, interact with NPCs (both friendly and hostile), and defend against hordes of diverse zombie types. The looting system is generally enjoyable due to plentiful resources and generous inventory management.
- NPC interactions and survivor camps (weight 0.11): The game world features survivor camps and NPC interactions, adding depth to the open-world experience. Players can recruit survivors, form alliances, and engage in quests, which often involve exploration and resource gathering. However, some reviewers note that the NPC interactions are limited.
- Zombie variety, ammo management issues (weight 0.06): The game features diverse zombie types and hordes, requiring players to adapt their combat strategies. However, NPC teammates have poor ammo management, forcing players to supply them. Human enemies scale with player weapon strength, leading to quick kills for both sides.
- Story and Director modes (weight 0.03): The game features a story mode with linear quests and a Director's Mode for customized experiences. The story mode serves as a tutorial, introducing new mechanics. Director mode allows for custom maps, but it was expected to be fully customizable.

- Features diverse survival options (weight 0.02): The game features mechanics for killing hordes of zombies and base building. The game features building, crafting, fishing, farming, and animal husbandry (fish hatchery and raising chickens) as survival options.
- World filled with traps (weight 0.02): The game world is filled with traps and obstacles designed to punish careless players. This adds a layer of challenge and requires players to carefully assess their surroundings. However, the frequency and placement of traps may be frustrating for some players.
- Lacks co-op, limited NPC utility (weight 0.02): The game lacks a co-op mode and character voice acting. NPC interactions are limited to being teammates, with no other utility (and they don't distinguish between enemies and allies).
- Survival mode features base building (weight 0.02): Survival Mode features base building elements like traps, turrets, walls, work benches, storage boxes, sleeping bags, and beacons. Survival Mode includes crafting, leveling, and looting mechanics, such as combining resources to create tools.
- Easy merchant system (weight 0.02): The game features a merchant system that allows players to buy and sell resources, including ammunition. Some reviewers find that this system makes survival too easy, as bullets can be purchased infinitely by refreshing the map. This reduces the challenge and tension of resource management.
- Hiring companions is time-consuming (weight 0.02): Players can hire companions with in-game money, but earning money is time-consuming. Armed characters cannot be hired, limiting the player's choices.
- Leveling affects companion limit (weight 0.02): Leveling up by defeating zombies allows increasing the number of companions. Experience points are only awarded for delivering the final blow to zombies with melee weapons or guns; kills with explosives do not grant experience.
- Saving anywhere, autosave unclear (weight 0.02): The game allows saving anywhere, which turns sudden deaths during hordes into an accent. If the player dies, they are sent back to the last save/auto save, but the game never indicates when it's autosaving or stores it in the save portion on the menu screen.
- Day/night cycle, random events (weight 0.02): The game features a day and night cycle that changes the atmosphere. The game features random events happening frequently.

Performance notes:
- Inconsistent performance, optimization issues (weight 0.17): Many players report experiencing performance issues such as stuttering, frame rate drops, freezes, crashes, and black screens, even on high-end hardware. Some players report smooth performance, while others struggle, indicating inconsistent optimization. Some reviews mention that performance has improved since the demo or after updates.
- Input method issues (weight 0.01): The game is prone to input method issues, but using the computer's built-in input method can resolve this. The shift key cancels the input method even when Caps Lock is enabled.
- Inventory causes lag spikes (weight 0.01): Opening the inventory causes significant lag, and closing it speeds up the game, which has led to deaths. This issue directly impacts gameplay and player experience.
- Save file corruption (weight 0.01): The game crashed and corrupted the save file, forcing a replay of a section. Save corruption issues can be very frustrating for players.
- Accidental attacks on NPCs (weight 0.01): When closing dialogue boxes or looting windows by clicking the 'X', the character attacks forward, potentially hitting neutral NPCs. This can lead to unintended consequences and alter gameplay.
- Player stuck in corners (weight 0.01): The player can become stuck in corners, unable to move despite the UI functioning. This is a specific bug that can halt player progress.
- Invisible text on ultrawide (weight 0.01): Dialogue text is sometimes invisible on 49-inch Samsung G9 ultrawide monitors. This is a specific issue related to ultrawide monitor support.
- Visual artifacts ('acid trip') (weight 0.01): The game causes visual artifacts, described as an 'acid trip' effect on the monitor. This is a specific and unusual visual issue.

Recommendations:
- Wait for updates/sale (weight 0.83): Many reviewers are hesitant to recommend the game in its current state, citing a need for more polish, content, and bug fixes. They suggest waiting for updates, sales, or a more complete version before purchasing. Some reviewers express hope for the game's future and encourage the developers to continue improving it, while others are more skeptical due to the game's current state or the developer's past actions.
- Overpriced for current state (weight 0.73): Many reviewers feel the game is overpriced for its current content and quality. They suggest a lower price point or waiting for a significant sale to make the purchase worthwhile. Some reviewers provide specific price suggestions, while others simply state that the game is not worth the asking price in its current state.
- Add multiplayer/mod support (weight 0.4): Reviewers suggest adding features like multiplayer, Steam Workshop support, and more content to enhance the game's replayability and overall experience. They believe these additions would significantly improve the game and make it more engaging for players in the long term.
- Compared to Project Zomboid (weight 0.16): Many reviewers compare the game to Project Zomboid, with some recommending it to fans of the genre seeking a lighter or more streamlined experience. However, others caution against expecting a similar level of depth or complexity, and some recommend Project Zomboid instead. Some reviewers feel the game is unfairly compared to Project Zomboid.
- Needs tutorial/settings options (weight 0.05): Some reviewers suggest the game needs a tutorial, difficulty levels, and graphic settings to improve the player experience. They feel these additions would make the game more accessible and enjoyable for a wider range of players.
- Survival mode preferred (weight 0.02): Some reviewers find the survival mode more enjoyable than the story mode, recommending it as a better starting point or a more engaging way to experience the game. They suggest that the base-building survival aspects are the most comfortable and enjoyable part of the game.
- Positive review for developer support (weight 0.01): Some reviewers are giving positive reviews to support the developer's efforts to fix bugs and improve the game. This is based on the developer's attitude and commitment to addressing issues, rather than the game's current state.
- Improve item/resource balance (weight 0.01): Reviewers suggest re-evaluating item categories, removing meaningless items, and adding more survival-oriented items. They also suggest increasing the availability of certain resources and adding a new tool for watering crops to improve efficiency.

Other player notes:
- Good foundation, future potential (weight 0.05): Many reviewers acknowledge the game's potential and solid foundation, expressing hope for future improvements and content additions. Suggestions include a roadmap, improved writing, and the addition of a multiplayer mode.
- Distinct from Project Zomboid (weight 0.04): Reviewers emphasize that this game is distinct from Project Zomboid, with a stronger focus on narrative and a different feel. Comparisons are inevitable, but the game offers its own unique experience, with some reviewers appreciating the environmental storytelling.
- Unusually large file size (weight 0.03): The game's file size is surprisingly large (20-30GB) for a 2.5D or indie title, raising questions and concerns. Some speculate this is due to numerous textures, detailed maps, or reserved space for future content.
- Disagreement with negative reviews (weight 0.02): Some reviewers disagree with the overwhelmingly negative reception, encouraging constructive feedback instead of insults. There is concern for the developer's well-being and the game's financial success, with some suspecting review bombing or personal vendettas.
- Developer identity discrepancies (weight 0.02): The game's startup screen displays a different company name (WaeUnion) than the listed developer (Kioop) on Steam. This discrepancy, combined with WaeUnion's history of similar freeware games, raises concerns about the developer's commitment and trustworthiness, with some reviewers calling it 'scummy'.
- Inconsistent cultural elements (weight 0.01): The game's plot and setting feel disjointed due to an unsuccessful blend of Eastern and Western cultural elements. Some reviewers suggest focusing on a Chinese-style setting instead of the current American one to improve coherence.
- Repetitive, misplaced airport audio (weight 0.01): The game reuses airport audio for news clips and other instances, which reviewers find odd and immersion-breaking. The random use of airplane boarding announcements is specifically noted.
- Unremarkable ending sequence (weight 0.01): The game's ending is considered unremarkable, with one reviewer describing a long black screen after the text "What awaits them will be..." that they initially thought was a glitch.
- High-risk, high-reward resource gathering (weight 0.01): The game design emphasizes risk versus reward, where tempting resources are often guarded by traps, NPCs, or weapons. Reviewers note that all rewards come at a cost.
- Multiple control scheme options (weight 0.01): The game offers three different control schemes for keyboard and mouse, including WASD movement, F key for running, and a command mode similar to strategy games.
- Separate save and cloud save files (weight 0): The save and cloud save files are stored separately, which is unusual.
- Poor machine translation (weight 0): The current machine translation results in nonsensical text, which the reviewer finds amusing.
