About the Game
==============
Sunset Routes is a simple seafaring rouge-lite game.
First, you need to select your destination, which determines what character you will get and the chance of getting it.
Then you have to select a character, which appears randomly depending on a variety of factors, including the destination itself, characters that can help you get a rare character, etc. The characters you own will determine how much cargo the ship can carry.
There are many kinds of interactions between characters, and you need to either manage your characters in the best way or kick them out from your ship in some way to make the ship carry more cargo.
The money you can earn depends on the amount and types of cargo in the ship and your next destination. Of course, your next destination also determines what cargo you'll be loading onto your ship.
There is a demand for a certain amount of money every 5 turns. How far you will go depends on how quickly and clearly you manage your characters and make a good combination out of them.
There will be multiple endings and achievements, and some of the choices you make during the voyage will affect your final ending.
Hope you enjoy this game.

Categories: Roguelite, Deckbuilding, Trading Simulation, Cargo Management, Multiple Endings, Crew Management, Casual Game, Turn-based Gameplay

Feature scans:
- Steam Deck: score 75; verdict: Broken due to frequent instability; summary: The Steam Deck experience is mixed: one user explicitly reports good compatibility and a cheap, casual-friendly experience, but another reports frequent 'Not Responding' states during normal trade and cargo gameplay, regardless of cargo-limit settings. No evidence was found for external launchers, small-text readability problems, or battery drain. Because the frequent instability matches the broken tier, the friction score is set at 75.

- Hardware Profile: No data
Feature extractions:
- Community Price:
  - Community fair range: $0.99 - $4.99
  - Reasoning: Reviewers consistently describe the game as a small, short indie experience and praise its value at roughly 120 JPY or 6 CNY, both around $1 USD. The strongest positive price signal beyond the current bargain level is that one reviewer says even 500 JPY, about $3.30, would barely still be acceptable, while another notes it is essentially mini-game-sized. This supports a fair base-game range starting near the current ultra-low price and extending modestly to about $5, rather than full-price territory.
- Playtime Metrics:
  - Game completion: 1.0h
  - Story completion: 2.0h
  - Session length: 0.5h
  - Endgame: 10.0h
  - Reasoning: The one-hour clear report supports gameCompletion at about 1 hour. The report that all six endings take a little over 2 hours supports storyCompletion at about 2 hours. The single-run estimate of about 30 minutes supports sessionLength at 0.5 hours. The relaxed all-achievement estimate supports endgame at about 10 hours, though other reports range from roughly 7 to 20 hours.
- Time-to-fun:

  - Friction: Unclear tutorial labels for deck, cabin, and cargo hold; Simple controls make operations feel like work; Little differentiation between choices across runs; Procedural repetition without proper level design

- Chinese font dissatisfaction (weight 0.07): The Chinese font used in the game is disappointing and unsatisfactory to some players.

- Cargo limit setting needed (weight 0.09): Many players find the game unplayable without enabling the cargo limit setting, as excessive cargo causes severe slowdown and control issues. The setting helps manage performance.

- Confusion (weight 0.03): The game lacks a proper tutorial, leaving players unclear on how coins are earned, the difference between deck/cabin/cargo hold, and how to use introduction letters. Vague rules and unclear ending conditions cause early deaths and frustration. Many discover the in-game encyclopedia only after several endings.
