Gûl wanted to decimate the World tree while Elrih wanted it to preseve it. Therefore, a war broke out between Gûl and Elrih. As a consequence of this age-old war, the Primogenitus fell out of power and evolved into today’s humans. Gûl became the one who was defeated and captivated under The World Tree.
