Emotions:
- Disappointment (weight 0.28): Players are disappointed because the game is not the expected sequel to Astroneer, instead being a PvE extraction shooter with forced online play and no single-player mode. Bugs, crashes causing item loss, lack of content, and poor value for money further compound this feeling. The removal of core features like automation, base building, and the charm of the original game led to unmet expectations.
- Frustration (weight 0.23): Frustration stems from persistent server issues causing disconnections, inability to reconnect, and loss of progress, especially after the tutorial. Confusing tutorials, unclear objectives, and a lack of single-player or offline mode add to the difficulty. Technical problems such as low FPS, clunky controls, repetitive missions, and poor inventory management create a tedious and unstable experience.
- Anger (weight 0.05): Players are angry due to a perceived bait-and-switch, as the game was marketed with a single-player tag but requires online play and differs drastically from Astroneer. The presence of paid cosmetics and DLC on launch, despite promises against microtransactions, feels exploitative. Many feel the game is a ripoff that butchers the original's legacy.
- Excitement (weight 0.05): Excitement comes from the game being fun and addictive, with responsive controls, beautiful graphics, and task-based exploration with other players. Some players are anticipatory for more content like regions and planets. The game also fills a niche for those who enjoyed Destiny 2 but were let down.
- Satisfaction (weight 0.04): Satisfied players appreciate well-designed cooperation and exploration, finding the game fun even if not a direct Astroneer sequel. They like that the game is exactly as described, with optional cooperation that works well and a positive gameplay loop. The developers' transparency about marketing choices is also praised.
- Enjoyment (weight 0.03): Players enjoy the game for its unique, dynamic, balanced, and social gameplay. The atmosphere, art style, and cute yet dangerous aesthetic are highlights.
- Confusion (weight 0.03): Confusion arises because players receive an unclear PvE extraction game without clear direction or purpose. The game's identity is muddled, with mismatched mechanics and differences from Astroneer's inventory system, leaving players unsure if it is single-player or multiplayer.
- Hope (weight 0.02): Hopeful players believe the game has potential to become interesting and that developers will fix issues and add base building, controller support, and localization. They expect improvements over time with testing.
- Optimism (weight 0.02): Optimism is based on the post-launch support seen in Astroneer and active developer updates and fixes. Players believe bugs will be ironed out and the game will improve upon full release.
- Defensiveness (weight 0.02): Defensive players argue that haters are comparing the game to Astroneer, which is a different title, defending it against negative reviews that expect Astroneer 2.
- Amusement (weight 0.02): Amusement comes from playful discoveries like confetti and the ggold3 rolling technique, as well as finding bad reviews about Early Access bugs humorous.
- Love (weight 0.02): Players love the game for its art style, music, and gameplay, with some expressing a desire for pets. The experience in open beta and early access is described as exceptional.
- Boredom (weight 0.02): Boredom results from extremely slow single-player pacing, limited to walking and exploring without engaging actions.
- Expectation (weight 0.02): Players expect future updates to flesh out gameplay with world quests and automation mechanics similar to those in Astroneer.
- Approval (weight 0.01): Some players approve that the game is not Astroneer, seeing this difference as a positive aspect.

- Cautious optimism (weight 0.01): Despite early access issues, players remain cautiously optimistic, finding the game still enjoyable.
