The DLCs are also highly recommended, as they significantly expand upon this content, adding new storylines, classes, and items that further enhance replayability.

Common complaints:
- Poor optimization and stability (weight 0.28): A significant number of players experience severe performance issues, including frequent crashes, stutters, and low frame rates, even on high-end PCs. This is often attributed to poor optimization, making the game unstable and unplayable for many.
- Excessive grinding and RNG (weight 0.25): Players frequently report that the game requires excessive grinding for various elements like traits, weapons, and materials. This is exacerbated by the randomized nature of maps and item drops, making it tedious to acquire specific items or progress efficiently.
- Repetitive level design (weight 0.25): Level design is frequently criticized for being repetitive, confusing, and uninspired, with large empty spaces and a lack of visual variety within biomes. This contributes to a sense of monotony and makes navigation frustrating.
- Weak and unengaging story (weight 0.23): The game's story is widely criticized for being short, unengaging, and nonsensical, with bland characters and a disappointing ending. The narrative often feels fragmented due to procedural generation, failing to provide a compelling reason for exploration.
- Frustrating boss encounters (weight 0.2): Boss fights are a major source of frustration, often described as tedious, unfair, or relying on cheap one-shot mechanics and excessive mob spawns. Many players find boss designs uninspired and less engaging than in the previous installment.
- Poor multiplayer experience (weight 0.13): Multiplayer functionality is severely hampered by connectivity issues, frequent crashes, and a lack of essential communication features like in-game voice or text chat. This makes coordinating with random players difficult and detracts from the co-op experience.
- Obscure puzzles and secrets (weight 0.12): Many players find the game's puzzles and hidden secrets overly cryptic and difficult to solve without external guides. This design choice is seen as frustrating and unrewarding, especially when the rewards are minimal.
- Unsatisfying progression and difficulty (weight 0.05): The trait and archetype systems are criticized for being unimpactful, with bland stat boosts and a restrictive trait cap that hinders progression. Difficulty scaling is also inconsistent, with unfair spikes and locked higher difficulties.
- Confusing Prism system (weight 0.05): The new Prism system, intended for endgame progression, is widely criticized for being poorly explained, overly complicated, and heavily reliant on frustrating RNG. This often leads to wasted effort and a lack of satisfaction.
- Overpriced for content (weight 0.03): The game is considered expensive for its content and current state, especially given its technical issues and design flaws. Many players feel it does not offer enough value to justify its full retail price.
- Overabundance of useless loot (weight 0.03): The game features an overwhelming number of rings and amulets, but many are considered useless or redundant due to minimal stat bonuses or niche conditions. This dilutes the loot pool and makes finding meaningful upgrades less exciting.

Gameplay feedback:
- Souls-like Shooter with Difficulty Options (weight 0.21): The game is consistently described as a 'Souls-like with guns' or a 'third-person shooter RPG with Souls elements'. It offers a challenging experience, often compared to Dark Souls, but with a strong emphasis on ranged combat. The game features multiple difficulty levels, allowing players to tailor the challenge to their preference.
- Procedural Generation and Replayability (weight 0.15): Procedural generation is a fundamental aspect, randomizing world layouts, dungeons, events, and even storylines across multiple worlds. This ensures high replayability, as no two playthroughs are identical, encouraging players to re-roll campaigns and adventures to discover all content and secrets.
- Flexible Dual-Archetype Class System (weight 0.12): A core feature is the flexible dual-archetype (class) system, allowing players to combine two classes for diverse builds. This system, along with a wide array of weapons, traits, and gear, enables extensive character customization and supports various playstyles.
- Co-op Focused, Challenging Solo Play (weight 0.11): While playable solo, the game is heavily designed with co-op in mind, supporting up to three players. Solo play is often described as significantly more difficult, with some puzzles and content explicitly requiring multiple players. The difficulty scales with the number of players.
- Evolution from Predecessor (weight 0.05): The game builds upon its predecessor, Remnant: From the Ashes, by expanding on core mechanics while introducing significant changes. Notably, armor no longer provides set bonuses or requires upgrading, with these perks now integrated into the new class system, allowing for more aesthetic freedom.
- Vast Weapon and Customization Options (weight 0.05): The game boasts a vast arsenal of weapons, including long guns, handguns, and melee weapons, each with customization options like mods and mutators. This extensive variety allows for deep weapon customization and synergy with character builds.
- Deep and Rewarding Build Crafting (weight 0.05): Build crafting is a central and rewarding mechanic, allowing players to combine archetypes, traits, rings, amulets, and weapon modifications to create powerful and unique character builds. Many secrets and achievements are tied to discovering new build components.
- Tiered Difficulty and Hardcore Mode (weight 0.03): The game features multiple difficulty settings, from 'Survivor' (easy) to 'Apocalypse' (hardcore), allowing players to choose their challenge. While all achievements can be unlocked on lower difficulties, higher difficulties and hardcore mode offer unique rewards and a more demanding experience.

- In-Game Glitches & Map Issues (weight 0.01): Players have encountered various in-game glitches, such as bosses or mobs getting stuck, not spawning, or players falling through the map, particularly in boss arenas.
- DX12 & Hardware Demands (weight 0.01): The game exclusively uses DirectX12, which, combined with its demanding special effects, makes it less compatible with older hardware that might have run the previous installment well.
- Input Lag & Freezing (weight 0.01): Some players experience significant input lag and screen freezes when loading into the game or saving, despite high reported FPS, indicating a disconnect between displayed frames and actual responsiveness.
- Good Steam Deck Performance (weight 0.01): The game reportedly runs surprisingly well on the Steam Deck, often performing better than some officially supported titles.
- Frame Generation Removed (weight 0.01): A specific update (11.6) removed the ability to enable frame generation, which previously contributed to higher frame rates for some users.
