Feature scans:
- MTX: score 10; verdict: Fair; summary: The game is generally praised for its lack of microtransactions and paid DLC, with many players appreciating the free updates and the value they get for the price. However, there are some concerns about overpriced merchandise and requests for additional purchasable content to support the developers. Overall, the game's monetization is seen as fair and non-predatory.
- Mods: score 40; verdict: Buggy but Playable; summary: The game heavily relies on community mods to fix basic functionalities and provide a stable and enjoyable experience. Frequent updates often break mod compatibility and corrupt save files, leading to frustration among players. While the core gameplay is appreciated, the necessity of mods for essential features and stability is a significant drawback.
- Wiki: score 10; verdict: Needs Significant Improvement; summary: The analysis of user feedback reveals significant issues with the game's reliance on external resources like wikis, persistent bugs, and a steep learning curve. Users frequently mention the need to alt-tab to access guides, which disrupts gameplay and indicates poor in-game guidance. The comparison of gameplay mechanics to Excel highlights dissatisfaction with combat and inventory systems. Additionally, long-standing bugs and technical issues further exacerbate user frustration. The lack of modern graphical enhancements and problems with game updates also contribute to a negative user experience.
- Proton/Linux: score 55; verdict: Tinkering Required; summary: The game has mixed reviews regarding its compatibility and performance on Linux. While some users report smooth performance with specific Proton versions and configurations, others experience significant issues with stability, controller input, and server hosting. The UI/UX issues, particularly small text size and poor scaling on high-resolution screens, are also highly criticized. Despite being marked as compatible, many users report compatibility issues with the Steam Deck.
